Halo used to have a decent amount of blood splatter in previous games. What happened?
It doesn’t have to be Mortal Kombat style but they are Spartans and the competitive objective is to KILL the opponent. I think the addition of some more blood and gore would be aesthetically pleasing, especially to the assassinations, while adding realism to the simulation.
What do you think? Do you miss the blood like I do?
It got rated T, that’s what happened.

That happens AFTER the game is finished. The rating is a product of what is displayed in the game, not viceversa.
And dunno, I guess some blood would be nice.
Its a simulation when you play online. However,I wish they added blood
The Terminal Velocity assassination may satisfy your blood lust.
If you look close enough you can see blood when you’re shooting your opponent but it doesn’t show the stains on ground. Either way I wish they would add it back like they had it in past Halo games

Maybe they wanted the teen rating and designed the game accordingly. Puts more copies in more hands. Besides, what’s so mature about Halo? What’s ever been so mature about it? Nothing really. We just have a pretty conservative rating system in the US for games. Not as bad as Australia, but if there are guns and blood, it’s getting an “M”.

Love it!
Are… are you just now noticing it?
This memory is mostly from Halo 3, but I loved running into a room and seeing blood and bullet holes everywhere.
I mean, I guess it was fun to just sit there and punch the guts out of Elites in HCE. I guess.
Never cared one way or the other about blood.

We are now doing a training simulation instead of actual fighting. So no blood

Halo should have never been Mature, and having it rated as T won’t affect sales in any mayor way. Kids will still buy CoD and Battle-front or -field.
They clearly aimed for a T rating to suit a wider audience to sell more. Yeah, kids still got the old M rated Halo games, but this makes it easier.
T-Rating reaches a wider audience and makes it more viable for mainline eSports coverage. I’m fine with it.
In my opinion, the blood splatter was a little excessive. So excessive that I ended up playing what is now know as Splatoon with the dead bodies of Covenant forces in Halo: CE when I was younger. Covering the area with blood was addictive. There definitely is a lot less blood, but it’s not non-existent. The only time you see Spartan blood it seems, is when it possibly triggers during an assassination. It’s got a chance to activate in all animations (except for ball, flag, “And Stay Down” etc. assassinations), but it may have a 100% “chance” to activate in Terminal Velocity (which would explain why everyone seems to just say it’s only in that one).
As for the Teen rating, I heard that the ESRB got a revamp.
The lack of the Flood (which gave the game a “gore” rating cause you could blow their arms and legs off and pretty much just dismember them completely) probably helps too.
I like that it’s mostly blood free. There are games for that if thats what you want to see.
