Sent support ticket and they told me they had now idea where it is. really? wow. They told me to post it here because the the DEVS do check out the forums.
SO where is the ban list located and can you unban a user?
I don’t think there is a public ban list anywhere. I guess you could submit a ticket on the support section and ask why a particular account is banned.

I ban morons off my Custom Game Server Via The CGB. I already sent a support ticket! See my post!

Are you sure you used the right support site? Because if the response was the developers sometime check here it sounds like it wasn’t 343s support site.

Here is the Support Reply:
Hey SysopIsAFK,
Thanks for reaching out to Halo Support.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find the location of these features in the Custom Game Browser.
If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know!

That looks like the right support site… Strange response. There is an official why was I banned thread at the top of this page I guess you can try there and/or resubmit a ticket on the support site, I would do both.

To be honest I used to work for INTEL on their server motherboard team a few years back. This looks like a typical canned support ticket response lol

Well you asked two questions in one and they seemed to somewhat answer only one of them. You asked is there a ban list on the steam browser, which I don’t think there is but I am not that familiar with steam. Then you asked can they unban a user. Which I suppose they can but probably don’t do very often if ever. Which would depend on why the user wan banned.

I’m not surprised.
I finally got a response on my cheater support tickets after a month and a few days. They couldn’t open the .mov files I dropped in the tickets. The same .mov files that are in the MCC save folder, provided by the game. I don’t think they can open files on support tickets for the MCC that were provided by the MCC game…
It’s highly likely the Halo Support site is not run by 343 itself but most likely a third-party company that isn’t equipped to help players on issues they have with the game.

I bet your right. When I was working for Intel I worked for the Company Called Syskes. They had different companies all in the same building for product support.

I, like the first person to reply, didn’t know what you were talking about at the start. So let me get this straight- you banned someone from one of your games in the Custom Games Browser and now you want to unban them so they can play with you again, right?
I don’t know where it would be but a good place to start looking would be MCC’s appdata folder. There’s one place in there I suspect it might be. Open %APPDATA%…\LocalLow\MCC\LocalFiles in File Explorer. There should be another folder in there named a bunch of numbers and letters (this is your Xbox Live User ID). Open that and are there any files in there (besides “PlaylistVariants.json”)? I know MCC saves your map/ game mode selections from the customs browser in that folder (that’s what “PlaylistVariants.json” is) so maybe it’s in there. I haven’t actually banned anyone from the CGB, so I’m just guessing here.
With Halo 5, the ban list was not permanently stored and bans were on a per session basis. If you went back to the main menu and then started a new session the list was wiped. I don’t know about how MCC’s ban system works (luckily, I haven’t had to use it yet). It could be something where if you restart your game it forgets who all you banned. If it is permanent and you can’t find a file for it in MCC’s appdata folder then it could be part of a cloud save.

The .mov files from MCC are not actually video files but rather replay files that contain data for recreating a game in theater. Surprisingly, very few people actually understand this, so I think what happened is the person who got the ticket didn’t know and gave up when it wouldn’t play in a video player. The people who handle bans probably aren’t software engineers.

Yea Thanks but I did look in all of the areas in the MCC folder and Steam folder … Nothing! The only thing it maybe is it’s on the MS Azures Servers. But that would be really stupid. You can’t unban people if there is not a ban list. Not say’n I banned somebody by accident but if I did I sure would want to be able to unban them.
