Is there any possibility that we could see Spartan Thorne in this game? I really enjoy him as a character and I would like to see his story progress. Who else agrees with me?
You could say he’s really become a “Thorne” in the Covenants side.
You might be able to find him “sticking” people up.
He’s probably feeling like a “rose” right about now.
He might just be a “stickler.”
In all seriousness, yes. I was kind of hoping he would be a member of Fire-team Osiris.
^^^Very punny
I’ll never understand this fascination with Thorne…
But I don’t see why he wouldn’t make an appearance, even if it’s not a very prominent one. We know from The Sprint videos that Infinity will play a role.
Where is he? Probably some place, killing Covenant, being a badass. I’m sure that we’ll run into him.

People like him because he’s just a genuinely nice guy. He’s smart (he asks questions and doesn’t just go along with the popular opinion (IE Halsey is an evil war criminal)), he’s badass (canon hijack of a Banshee, fighting while injured, taking on an army of Elites), he’s friendly (he smiles a lot) and he’s professional (the least boisterous Spartan IV of Sparta Ops).
He’s closer to being a true Spartan than anyone else in Spops, a down to earth anchor when a lot of the other Spartans were…not so down to earth. He’s a hope for what SIV can be.
Leading fireteam majestic. I think he will have some screen time in the game some where.
This actually brings up a good question. Will Fireteam Majestic appear in Halo 5? They had a prominent role in Spartan Ops and Escalation and seem to have become the Blue Team of the IVs. What I mean is that, for the most part, when we follow a Spartan team in the media, it’s usually Blue Team. Even Crimson was used to tell Majestic’s story.

If they continued Spartan Ops, but actually put some effort into it, I could see Majestic and other fireteams filling the roles to expand the story after Halo 5. They won’t, but it would be something.
So far, Thorne’s story has been continued through Halo: Escalation. He could make a small appearance in H5, but more than likely he’ll continue in the Halo canon through a more literature-based way.

Probably not. Just because of the large number of main characters already
I think at the beginning, they planed for Thorne to be part of Fireteam Osiris but they changed him for Buck
Hmmm… Maybe a Thorne/Majestic campaign as DLC? Would work well with the existing game’s squad-centric fundamentals.
ETA: funnily enough, after DeMarco’s death Majestic has exactly 4 members
His character is listed on the Halo 5 IMDB page so I’m gonna say yes.

This. Easily my favorite 343i-created character so far.

I agree with you.
I would go so far as to say, if Chief is unfortunate enough to lose a member of Blue Team, I would nominate him as a replacement.

He’s also bland as hell. I personally prefer a character with more personality, flaws and all. I just hope he’ expanded a little more.

Halo is an FPS. Due to storytelling constraints, you’re never going to get a Solid-Snake depth character. Unless Halo, in the future, branches off into an RPG game (which would be brilliant).
I didn’t like Spartan Ops characters or Story. I’m glad its left behind to some degree.
I could actually see his team showing up to help out if things get crazy within the campaign. I don’t think they went through the trouble of creating the whole Spartan Ops tbhing just to leave his character in comics.
