Rocket race was awesome.
I used to have friends over just to play multiteam and some rocketrace.
Halo 4 is not that kind of social game that halo 3 was.

All you have to do to NOT look like a complete failure as a human being is move your left pinky 1/4 of an inch and tap that “caps lock” button. Once the little light is turned off, you can give it another go.
Rocket Race is the most fun I’ve ever had gaming. But to make Rocket Race fun, you have to bring one critical element with you: A Friend.
When you team up, you get to work together: when to rocket jump, helping the driver navigate etc. It’s a closer shared experience than any other game variant because you’re on the same mongoose. You know exactly what your buddy is doing, so you can congratulate him on his good driving / rocket shots, and also bust his chops when he -Yoinks!- things up. You know he’ll see when you pull off a cool move too, so you get to show off for your friend.
But this is why it fails in the community. I have a sneaking suspicion that most halo players have no friends.

Im guessing we could get close to a RocketRace variant using KOTH with 0 or 1 second capture times, and play around with the scoring values and win conditions so that each hill you hit grants a single point. Place some mongeese around and we get pretty close. But I dont know if we can get back to ‘spawning on the mongoose’ that reach had.
If filesharing was working, Im sure we’d have some good attempts out there to try (Im looking at you 343i!!! :P)
