Most people don’t care where they are at. But it wouldn’t just make sense to hype of Spartan Locke in Halo 5 and have him disappear in Halo Infinite no matter how disliked he was. Same as every other character in Halo 5.
They said Master Chief is the main focus in Halo Infinite. But if characters like Blue team, Fireteam Osiris, Palmer and even the Arbitor are in the game then what are their roles? How much “focus” on Master Chief do they mean? Does that mean Halo Infinite will have no character switching in certain missions? If it turns into an open world with missions, will there be side missions away from the story that only a certain character has to be played?
I never connected with anyone in Fireteam Osiris… Honestly even Buck. I also never connected with Blue team even watching Fall of Reach and certain stories about them. But I don’t want them to disappear in Halo Infinite just because they were disliked. They have to have some part.

Of course it would, that’s what happens when you’re disliked in a game/novel, ect ect, that’s why retcons, and handling things in outside media exist, to write out a character or move them into something else that stops them from being in main plot. Makes no sense in keeping them if they lose the audience interest. The only reason to keep them is if you can better write them to justify their inclusion. I’d prefer the latter be done first before just tossing characters but it still makes sense to toss away disliked characters, more so if they actually aren’t integral to the main plot.
Funny; i just asked someone the same question on another thread.
I doubt theyll cut out what 343i was considering their babies or what could have been their way of saying out with the old in with the new.
Undoubtedly we all complained about the storyline of Halo 5 and 343i choice of character prioritization. So it makes sense that they showcase the chief in their… well… showcase instead of say Locke. The chief is the icon of Halo, without him it just isnt Halo. That being said this was all just a showcase of the engine. Im sure being as we are continue from Halo 5, that the character some of us fell in love with from then will make a return. And that includes the arbiter, we already know the covenant will be our bigger enemy this time around, so we could be seeing a repeat of Halo 2 in a sense. Humans vs Covenant vs Covenant vs _____ <— thats what we should be questioning.

The book that comes out on the 26th bad blood takes place right after halo 5 so maybe we will see what happens

You it like the Didact? Everyone didn’t really fear him or see him in real action. He was disliked through his little appearance on a game that was supposed to be big. So they scraped him off the next game and let him die in a comic book.
Locke wasn’t Character developing but he was played. And he showed action in his motives. He was mainly disliked because we, the fans, disliked his motives. That doesn’t mean Locke has to be put down sideways in a comic book or anywhere else. So if he’s going out in Halo 6, he deserves a little better.
I’m okay with Locke being around a little, but Fireteam Osiris and Blue Team just need to fade into the background in my opinion. There’s just too many characters floating around without any effort being put into them.
I really hope blue team is still going to be with you during the campaign at the very least. I dont have a problem with osiris and would like to see them again, but blue team is the priority for me.

Have you ever read The Fall of Reach bu Eric Nylund from the early 2000s? Its really good and has great character development. Its much better than that garbage Fall of Reach cartoon.
Case in point…you actually see the fall of Reach.
Hope all of Osiris is dead except Buck. Call me dark but I mean it. Hope they die first mission just like Jul. Worst characters ever.
While I am not a big fan of Locke and Fireteam Osiris and Blue Team were handle a bit poorly in Halo 5. Outside of Halo 5 Blue Team is super awesome of course and I do like the characters from fireteam Osiris so I hope 343 can salvaged them for Halo Infinite.
I honestly have no idea what they’ll do. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t show him at all. All we do know so far is that buck is know reunited with alpha 9 because that’s what the next book is about

Locke had potential but that was all wasted in halo 5s campaign
I hope loche only gets one mention. I would like to see blue team though
I think scraping them from the game just because the fans don’t like them is the worst idea ever. The fans complain too much on almost ever 343I does. I get most of you miss Bungie but they’re gone. It’s time to move on Halo is 343Is now. Fireteam Osiris wasn’t even that bad. Yeah they could have had more development but it was interesting seeing things from a different point of view. Locke was a great character in my opinion. Could you imagine being tasked with hunting down the most beloved hero in the galaxy only to end up saving him from his physco A.I.??? If we just scrap his character then the story for Halo Infinite may not play out good or make sense. We need a good continuation from game to game. What if 343 scrapped Lasky or Cortana’s death from Halo 4? Halo 5 wouldn’t make much sense then. I’m happy 343I listens to us but sometimes I wish they didn’t because the fans for Halo can be so toxic sometimes.
P.S If you’re just gonna come on here and attack me because of my response don’t expect me to respond to you.
Would be neat if one or more of the characters you mentioned showed up at the end of Halo Infinite to assist MC in a boss fight and or escaping the halo ring.

I did say some stories. But mainly I just mean Halo legends. Because I don’t read comics, only novels.
I’m glad at least some people believe Locke deserves to stay in an extent. Or get some shine to what happens to him in Halo 6. I too did not see any character development to him but I didn’t disliked playing him. He deserves sokesomet in Halo 6. After all, his helmet is the icon of the Halo 5 forums.

Fall of Reach is a novel.
I didnt connect too much either with osiris. However, i loved the concept. I hope they return and we get to see them bond more as a team.
I think chief focused just means you play as chief, I’d assume the other characters show up in the game but you wouldn’t play as them
