Hunt the truth was amazing. I’m not seeing any pre game build up hype. Where is it?
Given how HuntTheTruth set false expectations for halo 5 and is often blamed for why people hated halo 5’s story so much, I assume 343 didn’t want to repeat their mistake of overselling the game. They will probably just stock to a few trailers closer to launch and leave it at that.
I’d say the books that follow up to it would be the best bet of this kind of build up.
they wont hype up anything which is a smart move since they have to deal with the halo community
hunt the truth mis-represented alot of 5’s campaign.
Hunt The Truth is one of the reasons Halo 5’s campaign wasn’t well received
They’re probably playing it safe after Hunt the Truth turned out to woefully misrepresent Halo 5’s story. Probably best to leave it for now. Or if anything do something more generally related to the universe at large like ilovebees.
Where is the marketing in general? The trailers, marketing campaigns, creative -Yoink- ya know? There’s absolutely nothing besides toys and donuts in Mexico.
Toys, donuts, and art work on the box. YouTube was talking about it after the flight. But yeah I’d like to see some more marketing to keep the hype going. Maybe we will once we get a release date?
could be cool, but only if this time is the real truth
Hunt The Truth was bad marketing for Halo 5. Avoiding it is a good idea.
As to other people wanting to hear a hype buildup. I think right now can be best described as “The calm before the storm.”
Starting in September, I think the flood gates (No pun intended) will be released. Non-stop info should be coming in. But it is best to avoid hype buildup until a second demo is revealed. I think Gamecom will show us that demo. Then a few days of 343 evaluating the demo’s response from player feedback before making any other moves.
Remember, this game is going to make or break this Xbox Generation. And can impact Xbox over the next decade during the Series X lifespan and up until next gen in 2028 or 2030. So, 343 needs to get this one right. They are not going to take unecessary risks.
I would definitely like a mini trailer like we got for Halo 3 during the Superbowl commercials.
Since a lot of people are pointing out that HtT were part of why Halo 5 was badly recieved (which is true btw). I just wanna ad, Halo 5 would have been incredibly bad anyway lol.
I think the general idea was that Shadows of Reach would be that hype-product this time, and the book did a good job imo.
I personally really liked then we followed mini series before launch, I really liked FuD waiting for Halo 4, and then they did Nightfall before Halo 5. I was low-key hoping for another mini series for Infinite.
Yeah, I am aware of the hyperlink HTT brought and the disappointment it then reflected in the game, I just mean the marketing in general, and I would hope they learned their lesson and bring something more connected to the game. Stand alone without the H5 connection I thought HTT was amazing, and listen to it still owing journey’s. Also forward unto Dawn for (H4?) Was really good.
Unfortunately I totally missed the I love bees thing.

yes and this way of doing things I prefer anyway.
