So in the post 343 made: Halo: MCC – August Update
We were told challenges and Double XP weekends were coming in november. We are 2 weeks into november and still nothing. (I’m hoping this weeks update brings that)
I’d also like to suggest we bring back the old playlist/nameplate rewards from previous years, as an extra challenge and give players something fun to do. They are something that has already been in the game before and it gives people a chance to gain rewards they never got to if they didn’t participate in the others. PLUS you could add addition XP rewards and spartan points.
Just a thought.
343 are very clever in their wording. They would NEVER have said “In November we’ll be implementing Double XP Weekends”.
Go read the post you’re referring to. To quote it, they said " And we will also be looking to bring back Double XP Weekends.".
No timeline. No explanation of why this is something that requires them to be “looking to” bring back.
In a later post they said “Currently, we are tracking towards making these changes in the next content update for MCC, which is scheduled for November. We’ll have more information to share with you all as we get closer to that point.”
That was in reference to the paragraph above it, which said " We are also looking to enact changes to the earn rates of Spartan Points and remove barriers that players have been facing. The 100-point cap is being removed, retroactive points will be granted, and we will be making further adjustments to Challenges to make them more rewarding, along with bringing back Double XP Weekends. For further details on these changes, [be sure to head over to the August Update Preview blog]"
Long story short - they were planning an update for November, it may have moved (they havent mentioned anything?) and they only said they would look into bringing back Double XP Weekends, not actually stating when they will be or confirming that they definitely will be.
I’ve scheduled vacation next month, so they will probably do it then!
I wanted to also include a funny look at this wording from that same longer entry, " remove barriers that players have been facing".
This should be worded “remove barriers that we introduced” but 343 can’t be that honest with themselves or their playerbase.
True but they haven’t added the CE additions either, no news for months, I’m guessing they only pulled out of adding spartan points so that it wouldn’t look like they wanted to forget about the game and treat it as a cow.
They need to understand ALOT of the playerbase does not want to play infinite and also I don’t want to see updates for infinite on the weekly news for MCC.
