I was playing some Halo Wars 2 recently and after the new trailer I saw a lot of banished characters that I really liked. Especially the spartan hunting elite. But I kind of find it strange that a character as good as Atriox is just some background character in Infinite.
There where a lot of emphasis on him being the brain and brawn of the banished faction and we haven’t seen anything of him at all. Likewise I really thought some of the characters introduced in HW2, like for example the shipmaster or Colony, gave a lot of needed insight into the banished leadership and how it isn’t just black and white. It felt more immersive and real that they would have they’re own reasons why they were there considering the banished isn’t like the covenant with their religious system.
I also really want the banished waking up the flood to be canon and I hope that 343i will consider adding content to the campaign post launch as well. There’s a lot of great potential and loise ends after the endings of H5 and HW2. Guardians, Osiris, Blue Team, Professor Anders, the crew and Spartans of the Spirit of Fire, Arbiter and more.
If it is true what people say that the campaign is like 8hrs long I’m afraid most questions will be answered either in the Jul 'MDama way or not at all. It is too good of a universe to go “Game of Thrones” on the what might be the final chapter.
I don’t get the 8 hour campaign thing. It seems like if you rush through it it may be that long however how much would you be skipping? It is also important to remember that the Campaign is a live service and will be added to as well.
Atriox will probably be someone you are trying to avoid possibly? It could be that Chief loses to him early in the game and has to recover until fighting him again. I think the ending might end with Atriox dying while awakening the flood.
Where do this 8 hour campaign come from
Atriox is in Las Vegas playing poker with the Arbiter.
He is on earth enjoying the holidays. or suffered a coup.
8 hours? Where did you get that number from? No one knows how long the main story line is, nevermind adding the side quests that may or may not aid the main story line. Well, other than 343/Staten who has played it a number of times while testing it out. And yes, he did apparently complete it several times in one week, but it’s part of his job to do so and who knows exactly what he did? He could have skipped every cutscene, taken every shortcut, and ran through the campaign to get to specific points.
Though considering this is going to be a 10 year plan kind of game, I can see them adding campaign stuff along the road. I can’t remember if it was stated specifically, but I swear I heard somewhere that campaign additions would be made. Don’t quote me on that though, I could be misremembering.
As for where art thou, Atriox? It’s unknown since our story with Atriox kind of ended in Halo Wars 2 which was a year before Infinite. So unless he’s still on the Ark fighting a losing battle against the Spirit of Fire, he likely could be somewhere around Zeta Halo.

Atriox is currently stranded on the Ark (along with many of his Banished forces, including the leaders you just mentioned) after the events of HW2. That’s why he’ll likely not appear in the game.

Incorrect. Atriox departs the Ark after the Second Ark Conflict and returns to the Milky Way. Read Shadows of Reach.

Actually in the one of the newest book Halo: Shadow of Reach Atriox is able to return to the milky way via a portal on Reach.
I don’t think we will see Atriox appearing in the entire campaign levels from the upcoming Halo Infinite. I can see him appearing at the end of the new Halo video game especially a post credit scene. That’s where it can give a hint that Atriox will be the main villain in the Halo Infinite story expansions.

Well, in the scene where the Brute crashes through the door and it goes sliding we see a hologram of Atriox in the room he came from and that is most likely pretty early on too in the story I’d guess.

So that means Atriox’s presence will be felt throughout the Halo Infinite campaign levels, right? Here is another possibility that could happened. I have mentioned this before, I think Halo Infinite might set up a story where we can see Master Chief fight Atriox especially when it comes to the story expansions.
Well from the Campaign overview we got to see a hologram of him. So if I had to guess, he will show up in a Campaign expansion. After watching him take on Red team alone, he is definitely going to be more than match for our Big green boi
The 8hr campaign is just something that various youtubers have repeatedly stated. I don’t have any info as to where else it comes from.
I personally doubt that it’s that short unless you are skipping through the side content on easy difficulty.
You don’t have to worry about the Banished unleashing the Flood being canon, because it is in fact canon. I don’t know why you’d think it wasn’t.
hes prolly vibing somewhere in a luxury hotel with a martini in one hand and a remote in the other.
