Here on waypoint we get little snippets of info each week, but for the general gaming public they are none the wiser, if you have never visited waypoint and are interested in Halo 4, you don’t have much to go on, there seems to be very little hype for Halo 4 at the moment, which in a way is a good thing, because if it’s a disappointment we can’t say it was too hyped up, but at the moment, we are getting closer to launch, Halo 4 is dropping down on pre-orders, it needs slightly more hype, even a 2 minute cinematic trailer on youtube or something, i think many people are slowly losing interest.
Of course i’m only speaking for the general gaming public, us Halo fans are getting spoilt with info, just the rest of the world isn’t.
What do you think can be done to increase the excitement for non Halo fans?
If Microsoft really cared about Halo 4, they’d have it all over the dashboard, they’d be pumping tonnes of cash into Halo 4 advertisement, etc.
If I were not a Halo fan, I don’t think I’d even know what Halo 4 is with the lack of advertisement.
I think a live action trailer is a bad thing, it doesn’t encourage new people to play the game. A campaign/multiplayer advert is what we need on YouTube, on television, etc. They also need to advertise it throughout Microsoft.
I believe a lack of hype is the best thing that can happen to this game. I’ve felt this way ever since the announcement trailer.
I ended up getting overhyped for Reach, and ended up being disappointed with the Campaign, and thought that Firefight could’ve been better. I think Bungie made a HUGE mistake in revealing the space battle in Long Night of Solace.
I feel it’ll be better to be underhyped and have everyone go “WOW this is awesome!” rather than be overhyped and go “Meh, not as exciting as I thought it would be.”
This is Halo’s make or break time, and they don’t want to hype it up too much where player expectations will be impossible to meet.

I think part of the problem is too much false hype that people had at the end of last year and start of this year, like the VGAs and CES, and 1/17, also, it’s still too early to be starting any thing massive.
I’ve heard that gamerfuel being released tomorrow will feature Halo 4.
Not when your publishers are multi billionaires. There is ZERO hype, it’s like the game is coming out next year or something, other games like Tomb raider and Crysis 3 don’t even come out till next year, and they are getting more hype, you need to keep people interested or they will completely forget the game even exists, i see Bops 2 trailers, Borderlands 2 trailers and Assasins creed 3 trailers all over youtube and on TV but not a single Halo 4 trailer is seen.
End of Sep. Soda books mini series ECT… Black ops2 is just trying to get a head start on all this and has worked since ur posting this here. U just want a hype trailer. Calm before the storm
There’s still PAX prime to come and I believe another convention where it will shown…Eurogamer expo maybe. Did I make that up? I’m sure I saw it on this forum somewhere today…

and if you start too early the exact same thing will happen as they will run out of content to deliver and it will be swallowed by the other games released content near the release date.

Halo 3 was advertised like crazy, and it became the best selling xbox 360 game of all time.
