So, I’ve been gone couple of days, and when I got back, Action Sack was GONE!!! I Loved this playlist, it was one of my favourite playlists. Why did they remove it?
Divided the community, housed too many stat paddlers and was underpopulated for what it’s worth.
It was removed in the August Consolidation Update due to its low population.
It won’t be returning along with the other four playlists removed as said in this tweet.

Just like team objective! Talking about underpopulated! HAH!!

TO needs to be there. It’s the only playlist that has the classic Halo objective experience. Unlike AS which was just random -Yoink!-.

BTB also has the objective experience, AS was even more populated then SuperSlayer, MLG, and TO. TO also hosts stat paddlers.

In the end, Action Sack was just party games, if you want to play the games that was once in there, you could always find a few friends and play them in Custom Games.
It isn’t coming back.

BTB has the large scale Halo experience. Not a small scale experience what essentially made Halo. All playlists you listed all have a purpose. TO keeps the original Halo experience. MLG houses competitive players. SuperSlayer houses TU settings. AS didn’t have a purpose, it was just custom games with extra credits.
TO does have stat padders, but to be a stat ladder in TO you have to be remotely skilled whereas on AS any old BK could stat away.
Keep in mind they, 343, are gearing up for Halo 4. As such they need to consolidate playlists here and there to make room. Also, they had several issues with people complaining about search times. This was also a reason why they removed playlists.
Something interesting though:
Those who didn’t like Halo Ball, Extreme, Hockey, or a few others…LOVED Hotshot. And just the opposite. I was/are one of those who loved Halo Ball, Extreme, Hockey and what not and hated things like Shotty Snipers and Hotshot.
Therefore it’s also possible that they had complaints about people Refusing to play because they got butt hurt over a variant they didn’t want being voted for.
Search times were fine. Halo 4 isn’t out for a few months still. Most of the reasons offered for removal are garbage.
Action Sack’s purpose was just for fun, silly games. But maybe it’s just part of halo’s new direction with a new company to discourage having fun. Though I guess action sack never got most of the fun gametypes that people ended up making so maybe they just wanted to cut their losses and put it down now rather than try to add in anything worthwhile.
Action sack got action sacked. It’s so ironic!
It got removed with the August Update, along with FF Doubles, Anv. FFA, Anv. BTB, and Squad DLC. It was because of the low population(sort of) and some other crap about FF Doubles being “redundant” or whatever.
