Notice something? There’s not 8 vs 8 Objective in this game, despite it being showcased on the larger maps in the pre-launch days. I want it. I miss it. I NEED IT.
My theory about why it is currently MIA is that 343 is best trying to decide how to stop spawn killing from happening. They don’t want kids getting stuck in objective like they did in Reach and getting their **** kicked because they don’t know how to get map control. Well, that sucks. We (teams of 8) knew what we were doing, and we were rewarded for our skill in terms of map control. 343 doesn’t want that anymore.
Yeah I’m disappointed about this too. CTF was showcased on exile and longbow so I was letdown when they weren’t in the playlist. We have awesome maps for Big Team CTF like Longbow, exile, vortex, ragnarok and meltdown.
Spawn killing would be easily remedied by a mercy rule. The game tracks the kills and if one team goes 100 kills ahead, the announcer says ‘MERCY’ and the game ends.
100 kills would be enough of a buffer to ensure that a team can’t totally ignore the objective and go for kills, but lets face it if a team goes 100 kills ahead, its pretty obvious that they are spawn trapping and stat padding.
> However the fact that you point out you play big team in full party and take pride in beating random guest teams shows me that you are a total scrub.
Do my stats look like I’m a scrub? And by the way, I play teams of 8 all the time.
Here’s what you don’t understand about this game. You are ENCOURAGED to party up with friends. That’s TEAMWORK. That is what brings home the bacon, not a bunch of lone wolves with no coordination. Your competence as a Halo player is dependent on team work. This is what makes Halo different from CoD and BF3. Teams win. Lone wolves lose.
> Theory sounds plausable actually.

100 might be a little high … not a bad idea however.
You are correct, though. There does need to be a buffer for total domination like that. It should make getting anything over a Rampage almost impossible.
If they were that concerned about spawn camping, they’d go to those dreadful dynamic spawns. I don’t think that’s it.
Frankly, I don’t know what the hold up is. They have more BTB maps available at launch (and provided three more via DLC) than the prior iteration had, and most of those would play great for objective gametypes. Yet, nothin.
I’m convinced they just deemed this low priority and are adhering to playlist caps very strictly. Shame.
They should add it back. It would make BTB much more enjoyable with CTF and Assault. But I really don’t think thats the reason though, although I did get 2 perfections and like 3 Rampages with the Banshee on Spire.
