Where do you hope Infinite takes the story?
Infinite will begin a few years into the Created conflict, and it take place at least on a Halo ring, likely Zeta Halo. Where do you hope Infinite takes the story? Let’s have fun discussing 
Well before I discuss about possibilities of Halo Infinite story, I must point out few things that might be relevant in Infinite.
- Remember in Halo 2 when Cortana turned green and said “This is UNSC AI Cortana serial number: CTN 0452-9. I am a monument to all your sins” (possible indication to flood & gravemind)
- In Halo 5: Guardians the first cutscene had Halsey as she is shown in the rest of the game and Cortana but she has slightly different wibe to her made me think: when we got the extra dialogue from Halo Infinite trailer found in QR-code with Cortana saying “this is part of me” so maybe the cortana shown in Halo 5 opening cutscene is not even the Cortana we all know? Maybe this one is CTN 0452-0 as we’ve seen the chip in Halo Infinite trailer. Just curious.
So for the Halo Infinite’s story what I think will happen in a nutshell:
Cortana’s been raising all kinds of hell around the galaxy, making everyone do her bidding. Cortana being under logic plague runnin’ around galaxy trying to locate all Halo rings in order to destroy/deactivate them so flood cannot be stopped. Halsey modifies chiefs armor so cortana cant do -Yoink- to chief and gives him Cortana 2.0.
Locke is doing some irrelevant stuff cause no one really cares about him and is kinda there but in the background. Chief reunites with Cortana and kills or saves her. Main villain is flood and the game will end with galaxy in chaos but with a narrow victory over flood. Legendary ending shows single flood spore floating inside UNSC ship.
Dont take this too seriously brothers. Lol.
All I really want to happen is to solve this created business and most importantly deal with Cortana, preferably saving her if it makes sense but if we gotta kill her, so be it.
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind the story continuing on the Halo Array as it was just fine. I wouldn’t mind the game taking us back to Earth or even Sigma Octanus 4. I’m mostly rooting for the Earth thing as I could expect a rogue AI launching an offensive against her creators.

Not to sound mean, but the last thing I want is for Cortana to be saved or redeemed and teamed up with Chief again, that would then utterly render Halo 4 entirely pointless. i think she needs to die once and for all.

You don’t sound mean, not everyone is gonna have the same opinion, money’s probably the more unpopular one to be honest.
The way I look at it though is she sacrificed herself in H4 to save Chief, then she was brought back a villain. I’d like it if she was brought back for a reason, not just to die again. Chief and Cortana are a package to me and if Cortana died I’d want Chief to go with her and let that be the end of their story. What I’d really like though is if something happened to her when she was resurrected that can be undone, then we can get our Cortana back. They already ruined the significance of her death in H4, I’d rather them not waste her life now since she’s already back, might as well make it mean something. If not, then let her die for good and I’ll move on.

I see your points and think they’re very good. I feel that Chief’s story can very much continue without having or involving Cortana, and have Blue Team in there. I’m worried they’re gonna want Cortana to become good again and then have her and Chief be partnered up again like in earlier games.

I see, and yeah they should’ve left her dead. I think it’d be interesting if the Cortana we’re fighting dies by the end, but Chief gets a new AI that sounds like Cortana but has a very different personality.

I agree if Cortana dies I definitely want him to get a new AI

I actually like playing Chief solo for the most part. I thought H5 was gonna be really cool because Blue Team was there but I didn’t really care for it in the end. If Blue Team was with him I’d hope there were at least some missions where you’re by yourself with at most some marines.

She definitely has a lot to answer for. I think evil Cortana will be replaced with another version of her, there is enough in the lore to allow 343i to take that route if they choose to. I think the story might be about building new relationships, kind of like Halo CE in story and design, but I could be a mile off, wouldn’t be the first time either lol.
