With Te being a gas giant could it be assumed that the Lekgolo come from one of Te’s moons? If that is the case, what it the actual homeworld of the Lekgolo?
It is Te…‽

The Lekgolo seem to be a terrestrial species, Te is not terrestrial so they can’t come from the planet itself.

Asked Grim on Twitter they evolved on the rings largely.

It is said they they come from a satellite orbiting Te.

while the Bestiarum explicitly describes Te as a terrestrial world with a solid surface. The Halo Encyclopedia, contradicts itself, stating that Te is merely often mistaken as a gas giant, but it is a terrestrial planet. However, recent sources, including Halo: Broken Circle, the Halo 2 Anniversary Terminals, Halo Waypoint’s article on the Lekgolo and 343 Industries’ Jeff Easterling have all claimed that Te is a gas giant. so in sues confusion.
the one constant all have in common is they state the homeworld as Te… not one of the 25 Moons of Te… like is said they are from Te as stated in Halo Bestiarum ( The Bestiarum is a Forerunner compendium of information about the various species in the Milky Way Galaxy. It also includes information about the species’ homeworlds and the Forerunners’ Technological Achievement Tiers.)
Which moon the Lekgolo were first encountered on is also inconsistent. Halo 2 Anniversary terminal #8 has the caption “A journey to Rantu”, yet there’s this:
> Query: There appears to be conflicting info as to where first contact between Lekgolo and the Covenant occurred, with some sources stating it was Te while others stating it was an unnamed gas giant. Can you clarify that?[priority]

I’d say the reference to Rantu in H2A is probably incorrect since two prior sources agree that first contact was on Rentus.
yea Te

First contact was on Rentus, but the Lekgolo who did not feed on forerunner metals were first found on Rantu. The lekgolo come from the rings btw.

That’s right. I jumped the gun.
Lekgolo (AKA hunters or Ophis congregatio) come from the planet, Te.
The blue Giant has two main satellites, Rantu and Uhtua, as well as 23 other minor natural satellites. The planet is home to approx 1.980 trillion Lekgolo and has a surface temperature which varies from -20 degrees Celsius to 95 degrees Celsius, its gravity is three times stronger than earths and the planet is the fifth planet from its star, Svir

If there is any confusion, you can argue that Spark didn’t do a good job when he made the Bestiarum, I think he actually said that his information may not always be correct. Anyway, the Lekgolo population “on” Te probably reflects the population in the rings, on the moons, or something along the line. It’s pretty much confirmed now that Te is a gas giant. Still, space worms, it’s already too much for me to understand.
From Te.

So those that mean they were made/experimented on instead of actually being born? Also It was mentioned that the Forerunner had found them “somewhere” and instead of killing them off with every other thinking creature in the universe. They preserved them. So if you want to know where the actual creatures come from…
I’d suggest to ask The Didact, however he is dead. So the only one left is the Librarian. (How convenient) XD

They evolved on the rings. We’ve already been told that,
I think them coming from the rings is actually something quite creative

I find it very… alien. I think this is the first time i’ve ever heard of something evolving on the rings of a planet. Definitely puts the lekgolo in an interesting perspective.
