Where did the "Rock, Paper, Scissors" Formula go?

It seems like they just threw the “Rock, Paper, Scissors” formula out the window for HW2. This is especially apparent when units will say what they counter in the beginning of the description for them (Like “Anti-Infintry” or “Anti-Air”). That formula was a simple and beautiful form of combat. Now it’s all over the place in what counters what. Please bring back the tried and true formula that we all loved in the first game.

Its still here. There’s just exceptions to the rule. Infantry still beats air, air still beats vehicles, and vehicles still beat infantry.

meh. It isn’t as obvious. Marine squads pretty much count for anything now after seeing many reports of marines killing tanks like nothing. Marines seem to fit in no category now

Maybe they’re copying Halo 5.

Infantry op right now only thing that kills Infantry is Infantry anti Infantry

OH SO THEY’RE JUST LIKE MARINES IN REAL LIFE… Holy crap.

Marines are easily countered by flamethrowers, snipers, tanks, and artillery.

Marines count as infantry. BUT can be upgraded to be a viable option in the late game as VEHICULAR SUPPORT due to the repair kits and rocket launchers. THE BARRACKS also gives you an option to upgrade your infantry to have +40% damage and health. Their veterancy also raises these stats. AND STACKS WITH THEM. SO OF COURSE… FULLY UPGRADED MARINES at the late game will OBLITERATE unupgraded scorpions.

BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN… vehicles can be upgraded to Vehicles III which surpasses Infantry II… and are thereby stronger than infantry at that point. SO WITH THAT OUT OF THE WAY.

THANK YOU for your time…

Uh, rock paper scissors is shallow as a puddle, I really hope they have a lot of exceptions to the rule. Units should have niches, not fall under an umbrella. that’s why you upgrade a unit- so it excels further at that niche, if not, additional units are redundant.
