Is it a community forge map?
I don’t think I had ever played this map until last night when it kept coming up as a voting option in CTF.
I loved it. Just a simple, two base CTF the flag map with regular Halo landscape in between. One Warthog at each base. I played about five games on this map and me and my guest did not lose a single one.
Has anyone else ever played this map? If yes, what do you think of it?
never played it 343 probbably just added it.
I’ll take any new maps added to the playlists. It’s stupid that there’s still only five basic maps available (without the DLC) in the two largest playlists population wise.
It came standard with the disk. Settler is Ravine’s only out-of-the-box map variant.
Settler is a very interesting smaller version of Blood Gulch.
Agree with what you said. It felt like a simply classic halo map. Two bases. Two Warthogs. Sniper in the middle.
It was very fun… Except for the countless jet packers with rockets and DMR campers.
Never played it sounds fun.
It was in the CTF playlist right? I wanna try it out.
It’s a Ravine map variant that came with the game.
If you haven’t notice, 343i added 2 new community forge maps to Halo 4 just yesterday which are Simplex and Settler…
Simplex has been in matchmaking for awhile now…

I played it twice last night and it was fun. I wish the bases were a little further apart, though. Other than that, it’s a good map. It’s a much better CTF map than ones like Abandon, Adrift and Solace, IMO.
Will be checking out CTF for this map for sure. Thanks for the heads up.

Settler came on-disc and just wasn’t put in matchmaking. Just more proof of 343 being stupid, we could have been playing it since Nov.

Horrible map. Especialy with the DMR the map is simply no fun. You get sniped from across the map from the other base and power weapons spawn too fast.
Just like every other standard forge map in games before (H3, Reach), it’s horrible.

Maybe you should read the news article again - Bravo clearly states that Settler was an ON DISC forge map just introduced into matchmaking in his post. The other map (Simplex) was a community Forge map.
As stated above, Settler is an on-disc Ravine variant that we have modified slightly for 5 vs. 5 CTF play. Feel free to leave your thoughts on the map in the Capture the Flag feedback thread!
Just got back from class to see this.
I’m glad to see others like it. I will also definitely give my feedback in that thread.
It would be perfect with no ordnance drops, but I know that is a lot to ask for.
