I mean at the end of the game when The Didact falls off the hardlight bridge and we see him fall, but he wasn’t destroyed by the Composer because he, like Master Chief is immune to the Composer. Where do you think he went, we heard him speak at the very end of the game. Do you think he’ll show up in Spartan Ops before Halo 5, or do you think he will return in Halo 5?
In his current form, the body we see he has in Halo 4, he’s dead.
However, doesn’t mean he won’t be back in another form.

I hope he doesn’t return. He just didn’t interest me that much. However I’d like to see more about the Forerunners and Humans. I mean with the Halo fired much earlier, wouldn’t you think that there is an abandoned Human home-world out there? Since I’m pretty sure Earth was not supposed to be our initial home-world.

Earth is the Human homeworld, formerly known as Erde-Tyrene.
I dont think he died,And also spartan ops takes place 6 months after halo 4,i really hope halo 5 starts of right after halo 4,
The Didact isn’t dead. Perhaps the body was destroyed but not the mind. If Cortana can manipulate HS to disable him and protect Master Chief from a point blank nuclear blast, then this is totally feasible for him to survive.
My guess is that his mind survived through a digital realm where his conscious can inhabit a new body (think Sigma from Mega Man X) and return for Halo 5/6. Plus, that epilogue after Midnight is a dead giveaway.

Okay cool, I did not know this lol. Sorry for the confusion. What happened to our buildings then for our past civilization? There’s zero trace it seems…besides what existed in Halo 3

I believe that the world in The Babysitter from Halo Legends takes place on a former ancient Human colony.
The Forerunner erased everything pertaining to past-humanity, from what I know. Destroyed their tech and de-evolved them after defeating them at Charum Hakkor.

Also, if you haven’t seen it yet: Halo 4 Domain Terminals
I think he is dead. the Pluse grenade, should have done him in. But if he did live from, well he did fall into a Slipspace activity. Cortana said there was slipspace activity as we get close to the composer.

now, im not 100% on this but i am pretty sure, the didact talking in the epilogue is actually from his trial with the forerunners all those years ago(or something like that), thats what i heard, thats what makes sense to me.
im not saying i think he is dead, i believe he is quite alive actually. but i think the speech is a past speech he gave.
I think he is dead completely.
Even if he’s not, the epilogue doesn’t prove he’s alive. I think that was his speech to the forerunner council, defending himself before he was imprisoned for using the composer on humanity, superimposed on the aftermath of the game to draw a parallel between humanity’s ancient power and its newfound dominance.
Think about it!

I love you, just for the Mega Man X/Sigma example.
I think that the composer shot the Didact on to earth, and that is why in spartan ops their is a promeathean knight soul with recent human memories in it… Therefore I think on halo 5 there will be a human vs promethean war on Earth

He died, just like Emperor Palpatine.
Currently unknown for the most part, mainly speculations have been flying about. I just hope we didn’t just witness another character get Boba Fetted.
The Didact fell through a Slipspace Portal. His Armor is rated for that type of Slipspace Rupture. Hes not Dead, we just don’t know where he is.
His Armor is very strong along with his shields. The Pulse Grenade maybe can disorientate him but not kill him.
In the Halo 4 Termials, HE went through many Forms To make him immune to the Flood. It didn’t work and because of that he can not be composed.
Well their capital was on the world with the original Gravemind. The Precursor ruins remained timeless as always and survived the bombardment of the Forerunner capital ships. There was two factions within the Forerunner Council. One that spoke for keeping humanity intact and the other for breaking the species. The only reason for this was to keep humanity around for their immunity to the flood but it took a third of the species to wipe out the Flood. Those that would become the Prophets betrayed Humanity so they would be spared the wrath of the Forerunners.
The failing of the Forerunners was their inability to completely meld flesh with machine. That is what makes humanity so different and a more capable successor to the Mantle. Short of being given a mechanical body the Didact as he appeared in Halo 4 will not come around again. They can preserve intellect inside a machine, but it is rarely remains the same.
Maybe he will shed his madness if he returns and goes back to the original plan with the Librarian to help uplift Humanity to make them ready to bare the weight of the Mantle.
