Where did all the friggin fun go?!

These forums makes me so sad and frustrated! It’s always just complaining it seems. I understand that is the majority of the internet. A bunch of trolls and devil’s advocates now. Where are constructive debates with reasonable participants? Or community members that want to play together and have fun?! Does anyone know some forums I can join to find it? High Impact Halo is no longer. I don’t mean to sound like I’m whining. I’m very excited for Halo 5! I just want to share that excitement with other Halo community members. The beta was fun, and the list of changes and balances coming for the full release have me soooooooo pumped for the multiplayer experience! I’m cool with the “sprint” implementation. The balance was pretty good for such an early build, that the full release should be very solid! I’m just sad getting on here and always having to have debates how I should not be excited because 343 isn’t releasing Halo 2 again this year. Seriously, if you know of some other forums, let me know!!

There is hope, and I’m part of one. Here: http://www.343industries.org/forum/

Glad to see you’ve got some sanity.

Awesome! I look forward to meeting more like minded players!

When an old game changes, it gets hate. That’s why the core COD community got enraged with AW. but now AW is somewhat praised for its changes.

Quite honestly I don’t care for this community. Its just another CoD community now, I mean, half of the forgers are gone, no one eben tries to talk, and there are still people stuck on 30 FPS. no matter what, this community will complain.

Go to the Universe section of the forum. It fun there. It’s where I go when I feel like I’ve lost faith in this community.

CoD is still garbage. That game takes zero skill.

Is that why it sold more than MCC?

It seems to me that each individual on the forum has their own idea of that they want in H5 and some cannot cope with the fact that the game isn’t in line with their vision. I respect 343 for making their own game, and I look forward to playing it for a long time.

Why would you respect a company for selling out and copying other games, causing Halo to lose its identity. And a company that clearly doesn’t care about their fanbase in the slightest and only wants to garner pre-orders and sell launch copies, not maintain a healthy population. And one that knowingly released a broken game in MCC that STILL isn’t fixed 3 months after release (and still has yet to acknowledge a lot of the major problems with it). A game that they didn’t even directly work on and merely outsourced all of the assets to cheap 3rd party companies to put it together, partly because of laziness and possibly cost-effectiveness and partly because of MS pushing for a deadline for both MCC and H5.

Doesn’t sound like a very good or respectable company to me.

Booger.

Omg look it’s so fun nao.

Actually, you’re right though. I’m trying to lighten the mood and get called a troll. It hurts. You mean I can’t troll on these forums? gg no re.

The sad thing is I clicked on this thread thinking it was another post about how boring Halo 5 is.

It’s because it’s a multiplat. Also, it appeals more to the masses. It does so much to take away the skill gap and make anybody feel like a badass because it doesn’t have a sandbox Campaign, and it doesn’t have any tactical Multiplayer gameplay. It is a game designed for noobs, and while that lowers the overall quality of a game, it sells.

Halo’s skill is different from CoD’s. CoD is about reaction time and quick thinking while Halo is about methodical thinking. Your idea of skill is different because you play Halo more, thus used to the Halo ideal of skill.

I have played plenty of CoD, and I can say that the low TTK combined with Killstreaks and Deathstreaks and all that -Yoink- means it will appeal to the masses more. It can make kids and noobs feel like badasses when they really aren’t. That, combined with the fact that there is no sandbox or tactical thinking akin to Halo or even Battlefield means that CoD essentially boils down to who can get the ADS lock-on first and pull the trigger. Call of Duty is an oversimplified game that only appeals to a lot of people because so many people can be good at it from the start. Hell, I did good as an 11 or 12 year old right from the start (especially in Modern Warfare).

Sure it’s a different kind of skill.

Except Halo takes more.

Kinda unanimous opinion and quite obvious from playing both (and I’ve pumped literally months of playtime into both).

You’re right about saying that it takes MORE skill. All the pro-players for CoD need special controller hardware and such to be the best, while Halo pros go in barebones. I’m just saying to not completely dismiss CoD and call it skill-less.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. I don’t consider it a personal failing on anyone’s part, though. We’re all passionate about this franchise, and many of us grew up with it, so it’s understandable that some people would be upset when a Halo game doesn’t offer what they want out of it.

I definitely see more debates than anything else in this section of the forums. I feel like people rarely ever get to just say they like the game, and hang out with other people who do, without having to defend the fact that they like a video game that other people don’t like. Gameplay preferences are subjective; they can be justified or even based on objective facts, but they shouldn’t have to be. Debates are important and they make for a healthy community, but so do peaceful chats and conversations, and I worry that an overabundance of the one might be driving away the other. Maybe when the game’s released, we’ll self-correct, and the forums will become a bit more balanced.

Agreed. Too much negativity in the Halo 5 forums. We should like…make a positive sticky thread!
I can’t wait for Halo 5. Curious as to what the larger multiplayer offerings are. And when are we going to get the campaign vidoc!? :frowning:

i thought this was going to take a slightly different approach, personally i don’t find 343 halo fun at all, where did the fun encounters go where the game could switch from zany to intense in a heartbeat, where a map and gametype combination could be SO different from another one, or the wide array of community endeavors to choose from. everything in the game feels so forced and similar to each other.

I found said encounters. They were just a bit faster though. And I found Empire different when playing Strongholds on it vs Team Slayer. It made me move so much. Take routes I normally don’t take. I don’t understand your third point. About community endeavors?
As for the beta, I enjoyed it. Was really fun!
