Generally i dont care, if a person resaves a map of mine and i catch it, ill talk to the individual and usually its a misunderstanding and i move on, however one case just recently was a blatent carbon copy map with the same name but new author, no description, i talked to him about it bluntly stated he needed to remove it and i got a message back saying and i quote "Go Yoink! yourself*

You can cross check the dates and see mine was uploaded 4 months ago, and his just a few weeks.
Like i said ive come across republished maps and shrug them off if its a misunderstanding but this is blatently ripped off.
Anything i can do or am i SOL.

The problem is, all things created in-game are the property of 343i and still on occasion, Bungie. As for them “stealing,” you can’t steal what is already free.
If the problem is a matter of credit going where it’s due, it’s as easy as saying “Hey, what a great map, but I’d like to point out it’s my map, not theirs, as this time stamp clearly indicates.” And if it’s the case, you get to have you name beside the “author” bullet, not the other person, on websites that may showcase it.
And so, a little fame, no fortune and due credit will be yours.

Some people are just untalented jelly 12 year olds who are desperate for a little attention.
I figured that, i dont know it just rubs me the wrong way the way he acted but, i suppose in the long run it doesnt matter.

Actually, you can steal what is free, because intellectual property does not start with a price tag. The map is not what he is talking about, but the concept, the layout, the design. Those are his IP.
You can be certain once you report this (as you have) 343i would never touch his map.
The guy has destroyed his reputation with everyone.
