What really puts me off are the non-existent unit stats. For example what is the difference between a Veteran Jackrabbit (70 cost) and a normal Jackrabbit (20 cost)? Is it only the additional detect ability or is it appropriately stronger to justify the 50 extra cost? I really have no idea. And even telling from experience is difficult when you constanly meet the same units with different levels (where you again have no idea how much difference a level up does). Theorizing strategies and rationalising why some battles are won and others lost are key elements of RTS. If the developers are afraid to scare away casual players with numbers make it an option you need to enable. At the very least there needs to be a wiki outside the game with all hidden factors influencing battles explained.
Well it’s a beta so it’s not going to have everything on it. Just wait for the final game to get stats.
Yeah the jack rabbit thing grates on me as well…50 point for detect it must be stronger but by how much?
A stats page would be great.
There is also at least the Cyclops that has a veteran variant without any extra abilities and identical ratings for vs ground/vehicles/air. So you just have to guess if it’s worth it until you eventually get a sense of it in game.

The game is gold and out in 2 and a half weeks, the menus are going to look exactly like the ones in Blitz beta, they just won’t be locked. Very doubtful stats are included in the UI from what we’ve seen. Halo Wars 1 didn’t have them… the only stats people got on that was a forum poster testing everything with timers and such to work out reasonable approximations and a couple tidbits thrown out by devs. Which would be much more complicated to do on HW2 with all the armor/buffs/debuffs/way more abilties/etc.
If we get official stats it would probably be on a Waypoint blog post or something but I’m not holding my breath.

Well with the cyclops and the veteran cyclops. The vet cyclops has significantly in increased damage and maybe more health. But they still could add a stat system and edit it with updates.
+1 too, i am a number cruncher i just cant live with “significantly increased damage”
That could be 30%, 50%, 100% or 150%. i need those numbers.
Would be hell alot of work to test each units dmg. Devs got those numbers, its just copy & paste.
i could live with an halo waypoint post with all unit stats. i hope to see those numbers in patchlogs too…
Sorry played blizzard games for quite a long time (diablo 2, warcraft 2/3, starcraft 2) and even more age of empires 2 /3.
Its all about numbers, we even calculated when its worth to do eco upgrades in age of empires and when its not (for example if youre rushing etc.)
Those Games are dead, atleast age of empires 3 has no more playerbase left. But i hope halo wars 2 will integrate some of the good things within the first 6 month.
