So like many of you I have been really excited for this game to come out. Its been a long time coming. One thing that you will always hear about Halo is that it has such a “great community”. This is partially why I was excited for another Halo game to come out. Its always fun to connect with new people that love the same games that you do. So in the past few days I have taken the time to go through these forums to see what the community thinks about Halo 5 so far. But 90% of whats in here is just negative crap with no sense of constructive feedback. Instead of this “great community” getting behind 343 and supporting the franchise that has been an icon in the entertainment industry for going on 15 years now, everyone is just acting like a bunch of spoiled children that didn’t get the toy they wanted. Overwhelmingly the #1 complaint I see is that this game isn’t Halo 2. This is by far one of the more idiotic complaints there are. If so many people want Halo 2 then by all means go ahead and play MCC for the rest of your life. I had my fun with Halo 2, it was a revolutionary game that made an impact on my life. I will always love Halo 2, but like many things in life it has served its purpose and now its time for everyone to move on.
If there is one thing that I know about Halo its that the best content for this franchise has ALWAYS come from the community. Things like SWAT, Griffball, and infection just to name a few. Halo games never start out to be the best game ever. But when the community actually takes the time to appreciate the time and effort that was put into the game then good things start to happen. I like Halo 5, I think it is a solid base for Halo to grow from once again. Sure there are things that I don’t like in the campaign and I wish there was more in the multiplayer. But I know that this games story is a very obvious set up for Halo 6 and 343 has a lot more planned to come out for the multiplayer. All it takes is a little patience which I know is hard for many of you teenagers that have the temperament of a 3 year old. I would just like the real fans to be heard. I want to see the new gametype ideas and experience the new community forge maps when forge is released. Hopefully by then most of the haters will move on and the negativity will subside.
