Where are the guardians 343i???

You remember you made that game Halo 5 Guardians?

There is 1 crashed guardian on zeta halo, as for the rest, we’ll no doubt find out on 8.12

Wow. Much ego.

A stroll through some forum posts from 2015 will probably answer your question.

No, I don’t recall that terrible game.

Cortana gathered them for an army. I assume they are wherever she is, like her personal guards.

Gone, reduced to atoms, scattered in the wind like ashes.

Kidding, I’m not sure where most of them are, we know one is currently making the worlds largest graveyard on Zeta, another might still be hounding Anders (play Halo Wars 2 for that explanation), the others might just be hanging around planets like the one on Earth.

They have shown a concept art with a Guardian in it so the likelihood of them being in the game is pretty good. They do have their more classic Halo 3 look rather than the look they had in Halo 5 though.

There gone child. Them and their almighty blue leader Banished by the Bishop of Damage Control to be tied up in other media.

LOL

In all honesty I think 343 have spent the last 6 years trying to distance themselves from the narrative decisions and characters instructed in Halo 5.

Halo 6 will probably bend over backwards not to mention anything that came up in Halo 5 short of actively denying any of it occurred. Either that or just explain in a clumsy exposition dump in the first 5 minutes that yes, Cortana briefly took control of the galaxy. Then her and all her fancy new toys mysteriously jumped on a metaphoric bus and disappeared. Then the Banished attacked and overwhelmed the UNSC while they were trying to collectively restart all their computers.

Not a perfect way to handle a badly received game, but then I really had no interest in playing Halo 6 if it was just going to be a full of Cortana spouting poorly thought out dialogue as you fought hordes of soulless Promethean’s again.

There is a good chance we will encounter a guardian, because Cortana is closely tied to them and we will have a Cortana driven storyline in infinite. I’d like it to stay a mistery until we are able to set foot on zeta halo on 8. december tho. But I’d rather keep my fingers crossed for some floodboys to fight.

Hopefully they got them all together and got ten novabomb around them and destroyed them in one go

I think the harbinger will have something to do with the lack of gaurdians… maybe its possible she somehow found a way to shut them down or destroy them and thats who has Cortana hidden or locked away aswell… im hoping the harbinger also shows that Cortana was not herself at all in halo 5 and was being corrupted or something to explain her evil crazy plot in halo 5 and we get the old Cortana back with chief where she belongs at some point during halo infinite!.. hate that they made her the villain in halo 5 its just not right and to kill her off yet again would be redundant as i thought her send off at the end of halo 4 was a brilliant ending to her character as it was very emotional and sad but then halo 5 came along :unamused:

Why would the harbinger have anything to do with any of that?
Facts we know:
1.)Ur Didact has logic plague
2.)Cortana spent time with gravemind
3.)was damaged
4.)interfaced with requiem while rampant
5.)adopts verbatim Ur Didacts Dialogue
6.)Is connected to the Domain and therefore Didact.
7.)Zeta and the floods longs history.

Seems rather idiotic to have harbinger be connected to any of the pax cortana threads considering what we know.

Folks spotted one crashed in the distance during the campaign overview. I imagine we can travel to it and find out a little something about it. I wouldn’t be shocked if we did and encountered a localized force of Prometheans too. Logically, I can’t imagine Cortana would send all of her forces to Zeta. One Guardian is enough to wipe out an entire planet. Even if UNSC and Banished forces were massive, one Guardian should knock them out. I think the Harbinger MIGHT have something to do with it, but who knows.

One note though. For all the folks being flippant about just having the Guardians and Prometheans go away without a trace…that’s been a problem with 343’s storytelling for years now. Do something but then give up and shift gears. I’m sick of that. Move to a new direction by all means, but at least finish what was started.

I totally agree with this even though i hated halo 5 story they spent 2 games building up the forunners and guardians story to just drop it completely would be ridiculous but it is 343 after halo 5 when it comes to story i have my doubts…

Not quite, they aren’t shying away from Guardians all that much, they’re just taking the story in a direction that more shines the spotlight on Chief since…Guardians gave Blue Team like maybe 40 minutes to shine in a 7-8 hour game was it? 3 missions that showed us some good old Blue Team kicking -Yoink!- and taking names (without actually takin names) and then the rest was Locke and his band of misfits.

They realized their mistake on pouring too much into a glass that can’t handle so much all at once. Halo 5 had so many new characters and instances introduced that only those who read the books would even recognize half their names and positions of importance. Vale (Hunters in the Dark), Locke (was a movie thing), Tanaka (I have no idea), Gov Sloan (Retribution), Meridian itself (Retribution), the threat of the Guardians (was mentioned in Legacy of Onyx I think?), the Domain (mentioned in the Forerunner series in the novels Primordium and Silentium), and probably a few other people and places I’m not remembering off the top of my head.

To anyone who hadn’t read those novels, they might as well just be people and places. I would know, because I played Halo 5 before reading any of the novels, so they were just people and places to me at the time. I wasn’t made aware of their significance until I read the novels. In previous Halo’s, we kinda just rolled with the characters we were introduced to and the places we ventured off to. Because they were people of importance to the plot and they were places where -Yoink!- was going down. Vale, Tanaka, and Locke were not really super important even though they were main characters. We didn’t need to know them, because we all just wanted to be Blue Team, but Osiris was a team 343 hoped we’d grow to love. And in their defense, some people HAVE grown to love them.

Meanwhile the places we’ve gone to in Halo 5 were interesting, but our trip to Sanghelios kind of felt like we were just being thrown somewhere to meet some end to get to our actual destination. Don’t get me wrong, I loved our trip to Arbiter’s homeworld, and seeing him delivering justice to some Covie fanatics was well received to me. But did we really need to go there? Probably not, we probably could have found another way, Sanghelios’ Guardian was just pure convenience while tying up the last of the Covenant story that started in Halo 4.

TL;DR, I might just be spouting nonsense, who knows? But I think that Halo 5 kind of hung onto reliance of reading novels too much. Though I don’t feel like 343 is shying away from the mistakes they made, they’re clearly tidying up some things and trying to focus more attention on the Chief since their mistake in Halo 5.

Y’all, The Weapon probably did them in.

Totally Accurate Halo: “A ghost from Destiny yeeted the lady program somewhere into space after the green man pushed some buttons he probably shouldn’t have pushed”
