If this is truely a Halo game then where are the Brutes? Since Halo fisrt came out over 10 years there has always been Brutes. Please 343 do us a favour and bring them back into the story line somehow.

OP, you obviously haven’t been playing Halo from the beginning because Brutes were never in the first game. The real question is: Where is the flood? They’ve been in the game since the very first.
Honestly though, one of my favorite things about Halo 4 is the Flood is missing.

When 343 said Halo4 was going back to Halo’s roots this is the only thing they can hold up in their defence - no Brutes.

I meant the Flood
They were also in Reach, which was suppose to be before Halo CE. Maybe their race was destroyed by the Elites after Halo 3??
Despite it being a troll thread, I’ll answer honestly.
After the Covenant broke up in late 2552 (Halo 2/3), the Brutes made up a bulk of the Covenant Loyalist forces. However, once the remaining Prophets vanished, they splintered further into competing bands of clans. The Arbiter also led some of his forces against the Loyalists well until 2559, about a year after Spartan Ops.

The Elites did go to war with the Brutes after Halo 3 and pushed them to the verge of extinction, yes.
Elites and Brutes have never gotten along anyway. Then the Brutes slaughtered a ton of Elites (and vice versa) during the Covenant Civil War in Halo 2/3/ODST. They obviously don’t like each other. Considering the enemy in Halo 4 is the Elite led Storm faction, it is easy to see why Brutes weren’t invited to the party.
