Nobody knows when the beta is starting.
Personally, I’m shocked that it’s March and we still don’t even have a date yet but that’s the reality. I guess 343i’s intention for the Infinite beta is fundamentally different than it was with Halo 5.
At this point, I’m not expecting any news until E3 (or June if E3 is cancelled due to Coronavirus concerns) so anything before then is a pleasant surprise.
Well, since it’s coming in Holiday of 2020, we may see a July or August beta release. I would take this with a tiny grain of salt though.
I suspect E3 is when Microsoft will fully unveil the new Xbox.
The shackles will then be off for 343 to show off Halo Infinite as the core launch title.
A multiplayer beta should follow very quickly…
I’m hoping soon as I’ve loved all Halos since CE and can’t wait to continue the journey

Infinite will be launching in late October or November given that’s what “Holiday” basically translates to.
If the Infinite beta is only 1-2 months before the game’s release, then it’s not really a beta. It’s just a network stress test as there is no chance 343i would be making significant alterations to the game that close to release.

It is weird that we’re likely 7-8 months from launch and haven’t heard anything of the sort about “flights”. Makes you think that not much iterating will happen if and when they do kick those off, at least looks that way the longer they wait.

Yeah, that’s the feeling I get, that we’re probably not gonna get flights until after E3, so thus really nothing major is gonna be changed or altered. Just some small networking and other stuff.

I think it’s kinda interesting that we got Halo 5 gameplay AND beta like nearly a full year ahead of launch, I’m wondering if they’ll do a beta in May kinda like what Reach did

Yeah, additionally the recent “We Are 343 Industries” video on the official Halo Youtube channel reinforced multiple times that they evidently want more community involvement to help with the Infinite project. The game was announced two years ago and all we know is “there’s a new pilot character”.
Either we have different definitions of “community involvement” or that goal has changed.
Because it’s hard to be involved in a project that you know literally nothing about lol

Seeing as E3 2020 has been canceled I’m really worried about not getting any good information about Infinite for a long time.

Wait, is that entirely speculation or has there actually been news/believable rumors that the beta isn’t occurring until Aug/Sep?
That would be shocking to me. The Halo 5 beta was almost a year before launch and that would place the Infinite beta only 2-3 months before launch. That’s a fundamentally different thing. And the multiplayer was largely considered the “better half” of Halo 5.
As for 343 waiting until the Series X is “fully unveiled”, that happened this week, at least regarding hardware specs, so really the only remaining aspect of the system to show is actual games. But sadly, I agree we’ll probably have to wait until June before we see anything.

Guys, no. I’m sorry if it wasn’t clear, but there is no official news for now. EVERY comment here is just speculative! I did however base my statement on MS announced marketing strategy as well as basing it on past console launches:
The main event in June with Hi beta placed just a few weeks prior to the launch date is the most probable outcome. It’s done to hype people more around the release while also minimising negative publicity. In fact **I wouldn’t be surprised if MS decides to postpone the announcement event to be even closer to the XSX day one launch.**Is it shocking? Not really. Annoying for us fans maybe, but certainly nothing unexpected and plenty of people here warned you guys for almost two years that it would be like this. Moves like this are fairly obvious for a new console launch… The pandemic doesn’t change anything about this reality check! Everything outside of those boundaries is what I would consider to be shocking franking! Quite welcome too! But also not likely at all. I’m sorry my Halo mates! Just be patient!

I don’t care if there is not a big reveal TBH, I just want some info from 343.
