The ability to get out of the Grifball court is a very real thing now. After seeing one pair of opponents attempt it without success yesterday (easy, distracted kills), I encountered it for real earlier tonight. A teammate of mine used the exploit to score the first two goals of the match. Groundpounded from on high with ease. Now I abhor cheating and give no -Yoinks- about my stats (and certainly not his), so I jumped up into the corner by our spawn and crouched. While playing 4-on-3, the other team scored twice to tie it up in short order. With the playing field evened, I jumped down and rejoined my team. I ended up with the ball and, given good blocking, scored a goal the legitimate way fairly easily. I hoped this would be a lesson to my jerk cheater of a teammate.
After the next faceoff, the map getter-outer gained possession, tossed the ball over and attempted to jump out again. As soon as I saw the circus act beginning again, I went back to my corner roost and perched there. Our opponents killed him as he tried to get out because they were wise to his act now. He managed to get out on his third try just as the ball timed out. So the other team proceeded to win on three straight scores while he was stuck out of the court and I was abstaining from action. A cheater was thwarted. All was right in the world.
If you see something, say something. Just say no. Only you can prevent forest fires. I couldn’t stop him, but I didn’t have to participate.
