I play Halo (and other games) completely for leisure. I was wondering if anyone else just gets “in a crappy funk”, where you can’t play to save your soul? I am super stressed out, and all day I was just thinking about kicking back and playing, but when I did: THE HORROR!!! So what do you do? And k/d spread or no, I don’t really wanna just walk away. So when you hit a dry patch, waddya do? (and what is it that usually gets you in that rut in the first place lol?)And please don’t answer with a smarty “it doesn’t look like you’re usually that good anyway” crap. I said “I play for leisure”. I have kids, responsibilities, and I life; I’m not a pro, ok? But that doesn’t mean I want to die over, and over, and over…
Well, I just play for fun so I don’t care about my K/D (playing invasion doesn’t help either, charging into the capture points kill your K/D). You could try campaign or firefight if you want to save your K/D (if you care about it) but if I die a lot, I just try to get my headshots in and pick up fun weapons.

I’m not nuts-o about k/d and all that buisiness, BUUUUT I’m seriously out of sync. As in die die die. Im’ not usually this bad. woa. In fact I was do’n ok last night, so now I feel like I mutated overnight haha.

Maybe you should try living dead, shotguns + zombies, everyone loves that.
I forgot about this game I played (because it sucked soooo bad…) I had like 3 kills and 10 assists in the entire game, one of my worst.

haha, that was so me today. I got a little better after an hour, and then proceeded to nosedive into stink. Assists are as good as kills, right?
Everybody loves a wingman, haha.
I don’t play as much anymore, but I used to go through these “dry spells”.
I would usually play a casual playlist like Invasion, Zombies, or Grifball. Better yet, do something else.
Action Sack is another good way to play bad (no offense) but still have fun.

oh yes, it wan’t long before last week’s episode of “Game of Thrones” was calling my name. But truly, it was frustrating. I usually default to “Living Dead” or SWAT when things aren’t going well, but nooooothing was working.

Oh, I’m totally admitting “bad”. No offense taken
Interesting to know if anyone admits what really causes their dry spells (I know sometimes it’s no reason).Or what they really do to “reset” back to “awesome mode”. Also think it’s funny when some don’t admit to bad days, with all the trolling that goes on in this biz.
I just search action sack and force hog potato in the vote and start beating up on defenseless guests with ARs with my sniper rifle on hemorrhage. That usually gets me out of my slumps. If not I just search alone in the MLG playlist and force myself back into shape.
And FYI: I mentioned that I revert to SWAT when in a slump… not because it’s easier to me or a “lesser game”. The opposite! It forces me to take better headshots, and use better skillz
I haven’t really played Reach in about 7 months until recently so I was a bit rusty but i’ve been playing it more and was doing pretty well. However, i’ve just been in a slump with it the last 2 days. I was just not doing well and it’s frustrating. The more frustrated I get, the worse I do.
I usually just keep trying. If Arena is frustrating me then I go play a different gametype. I’ll sometimes go and play SWAT or Invasion. I find both to be pretty easy and usually have a good time in both. If i’m in a huge slump I just stop playing and either play something else or do something different entirely.
I wish I could help you but usually the first game I go negative I stop playing. Normally if I lose a game I stop playing for the day too.

well, then just play with me
I swear I’m not usually this bad haha

My first game of the day is never “great”, I have to get in the mode. but of course there are times when you just know it isn’t going to get better, best to do something else
The best advice I can give is to go into another playlist, (not team objective, that was a horrible mistake…) or take a little break from the game and come back at a later time. Or if you have friends online you can invite them to the game and you can all play in one group. Everybody does better and has a better time with a group of friends. =D
Play invasion, it’s great! You don’t need kills, just objective takes (2 capture points and 1 core capture) and you can play as an elite. (I really like elites + stickies)
Getting whipped usually makes me get better and stay better, I usually don’t do to bad.

True I’m sure. I don’t usually have anyone to play with. My hubby is the one who got me into Halo in general, but doesn’t have time for games lately. I never started accepting friends requests just because about 50% of the time said “friend request” was someone hitting on me (not to do the whole, “poor me I’m a girl player”. It was just my choice to be that way), and many other times it was someone who was new and wanted to play with someone more established. So somewhere in there probably lyes my problem, lol. I guess if I played with others instead of being a loner I would have something to fall back on on bad days. I’ve tried to get some of my girlfriends into it so they can play with me, but quite frankly they all suck and just never get the hang of it.
So I guess people who usually play with others don’t have as many bad days. Makes sense.
