Ya blue teams new duds are gen 3 but the mark7 is also gen3.
I assumed the core for the new blue team suits would be mk7 seeing g as it is the gen 3 core. I thought all gen 3 variants would work on the mk7 core tbh.
Blue Team is all decked out in Mark VI Gen-3 not Mark VII.

ALSO FUN FACT - The Mark VI Gen-3 design is based on the design for the MJOLNIR armor worn by John, Frederic, Kelly, Solomon, and Arthur in Halo Legends - The Package. And McFarlane toys even made action figures.

Blue team are all in GEN3.
Gen 3 being a platform.
Centurion, Mark 6, Mark 7 it doesnât matter they are all models of the same thing. They share architecture like the xbox series s and x. Theres no real reSo to distinguish cores.
Gen 3 mk7 is jut default as you already said.
Ya the use the package as the inspirationâŚ
Iâm so confused by all this veering off topic
So are you all telling me 343i intend on making multiple cores for gen 3 instead of letting us have mk6 chest, with my shoulders and centurion gen 3 helmet?
Well yes. There are already multiple cores for Gen-3 MJOLNIR.
The Mark VII Gen-3
The Mark VI Gen-3
And whatever armor that Spartan Laurette Agryna is wearing (pictured below).

Also Centurion doesnât have any Gen-3 armor pieces confirmed yet.
That makes no sense at all.
As of now we have 1 core in mp.
Mk6 isnât available in gen 3.
Makes way more sense to use all gen 3 as a single core.
Damn this monetisation is gonna get so so bad if thats the case. I just assumed mk6 word be released as options for the mk7 core.
This is such a boring way to do customisation
It is what John, Frederic, Kelly, and Linda are wearing
MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor Mark VI Gen-3.
It isnât available in multiplayer yet, and I hope that someday we will have it in the game as an Armor Core instead of what 343 insists on doing with making The Master Chief especially unique for some reason, like they did with Halo 4 and Halo 5.
I disagree.
By having the ability to swap cores, we now have a uniform platform that we augment instead of Halo 4 and Halo 5âs method of âthe entire armor is being swapped out in favor of a new design and the only consistent thing is the exosuit underneath.â
âAs of now we have one get.3 core in mp.
Mk6 isnât available in gen3.â
It is available in gen1.
As in, in game not in lore.
BTW fred Linda and Kelly are not in gen 3 6 they all have their package inspired variants.
They are all the gen 3 platform they all have the tech of gen 3 mk7 theres no need to refer the blue teams suits as mk6
Only Johnâs.
We gain nothing from the cores all these peices can be mix and matched if 343i let us.
Before you reply with some reason why that wonât work.
Go online and look it up.
It would and does.
And as a 3d artist I dont see any reason outside of microtransactions to limit it.
You missed the point of the fact where I said that the current design of the Mark VI, being the Mark VI Gen-3, was based on the design of the armor from Halo Legends - The Package.
The Mark VI has had a few variants over time.
-
Gen-1 - Halo 2 and Halo 3
-
Gen-1 - The Package version from Halo Legends
-
Gen-1 - Master Chiefâs unnecessary redesign in Halo 4
-
Gen-2 - Halo 4 and Halo 5 Multiplayer armor used by Spartan-IVs.
-
Gen-2 - Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer armor
-
Gen-2 - Mark VI MOD that The Master Chief wears in the campaign of Halo 5 Guardians, basically the USNC granted John his request to upgrade the suit to the current software requirements.
-
Gen-3 - Halo Infinite.
Halo Shadows of Reach depicts Blue Team as wearing the Mark VI Gen-3 model, each with their own configurations
-
John is as he is in Halo Infinite.
-
Kelly is wearing Hermes Gen-3 Helmet
-
Linda is wearing Argus Gen-3 Helmet and some shoulder variant.
-
Frederic is wearing the Cohort Gen-3 helmet.
No I didnât miss any point.
I keep getting the impression you think Iâm not capable of understanding your replies but that isnât an issue.
I know my halo.
You just keep calling their suits mk6 when they arenât
For example.
Fred is wearing gen3 platform mjolnir with a COHORT class helmet.
Not a gen3 mk6 cohort armour.
See what Iâm saying?
Their ARMOR CORE is the Mark VI. The helmets worn by them is just something else that is compatible with that version of MJOLNIR software and hardware.
The fact remains that John and the rest of blue team are wearing the Mark VI Gen-3.

The point im making is the mk6 designation has no implications on compatibility. Any element of the gen 3 platform is usable with another, this mk7 being gen 3 should be the only core for gen 3 armour peices.
The chest of 6 with anubis parts a cohort helm and mk7 legs is still just a mjolnir gen 3 permutation so as variants of a single platform we shouldnât be divising it between mk6 gen 3 and mk 7 as cores its just a tactic to dupe consumers out.of money and its abhorrent.
That I can agree with.
Helmets
Helmet Attachments
Visor Colors
Shoulders
Handguard/Gloves
Knee Guards
Wrists
Utilities
These can be easily swapped between Gen-3 Armor Cores.
Chests however⌠those tend to be mostly new armor shaped and contoured to the unique shape of the chest armor.
But what reason does that have to disallow swapping them out on the mk7 core. No different than changing say a warrior chest out for recon in halo 4.
Feels extremely artificial and in bad taste to me personally.
This allows the armor pieces and attachments to follow a specific art style norm.
Mark VII stuff applies to the Mark VII armor core as a whole.
Mark V Bravo stuff fits in with the Mark V Bravo armor core.
Halo 4 had it in a descent but weird way.
Yes it was nice to mix-and-match stuff; but some of the designs didnât mesh well with others. So if you wore something angular like Wetwork as a chest piece, then having certain gauntlets and legs didnât fit in with the set.
I can realistically look at all the shoulder options and helmets and say âyeah I can mix this up any way I want and it will fit in with the whole set.â
But what you are saying does not appear to be true.
I can crack this wall on pc and all the peices fit together.
Theres no benefit to us at all.
It just allows the store to sell a single asset to one person multiple times.
There is no improvement to aft cohesion as the styles all fit together. You can put mkv b attacents on the yoroi core and it has no issues with the model at all.
Plenty of examples of this being done on video should you care to check it yourself.
Agreed.
What annoys me the most is that it seems unlikely that they will really improve on this campaign release, when they could be working on another one for this coming holiday season.
I actually felt like the campaign was really close to being good, even great, but would need a lot of work to polish and I just doubt that theyâll put it in.
I dont want more cores
Just 1 core with all the armor and colours available to it.
The armor pieces themselves would only fill out about 30 slots, true. And thereâs no way Hayabusa will come back, at least not the helmet. The chest and shoulders could return with a new name though, since only the helmet was actually a reference to Ryu Hayabusaâs character design.
That said, some pieces from other sources could realistically be reused for Mark VI, like the Mark IV armor in Halo Wars. And there are plenty of helmets that were added in MCC that could also be used as part of a Mark VI core. Also visor colors, coatings, emblems, possibly a Guilty Spark, Cortana, or Johnson AI voice etc.
ODST should be included too I think
Though I get this sentiment, Iâm sure that there will be some barely-customizable armor cores (possibly visor and armor coating only) that will appear and not take-up too many resources and options away from other cores (for example, the CE Mark V armor core). I can see this being a nice example of a less intrusive, yet still popular addition. Same thing with Mirage and Orion from MCC, because of the legacy. I hope that serves as some silver lining to the armor core system
