When will we get Mjolnir Gen 3 armor Core?

Honestly If there was a campaign purchase exclusive armor Core like the Gen 3 Mjolnir armor worn by Chief I would love that. It would make the campaign worth the money. It would increase campaign value. And maybe instead of only getting Mark 7 armor coatings, you could get Gen 3 armor coatings, cosmetics, etc. If we don’t get one for buying the campaign, how else could we get one?

I think we are more likely to get the Mark VI GEN1 core as part of a Halo 3 themed season, with all the attachments from H3 making a comeback.

343 likely wants to continue the pattern of not letting us look like current-generation Master Chief so he stays iconic and unique.

what do you think the Mk 7 is?

I believe OP is asking specificially for the armor worn by John, Fred, Kelly, and Linda as of 2559 - the Mark 6 Gen-3.

Gen 3 is Master Chief’s armor and Blue Team etc

The Mark VI worn by John is a Gen-3 MJOLNIR platform. Same goes for the Mark VII and whatever Spartan Laurette Agryna’s armor core is. Everything else is either Fractures, or Gen-1.

I have high doubts that we will see a Gen-2 platform anytime soon.

Yeah, it’d be cool if they added legacy rewards for MkVI for beating each campaign on MCC/H5. Chief’s MkVI Gen 1 from H2 is my favorite armor for him, so having the MkVI designs from all four games as armor kits would make me happy.

Isn’t the mk7 the gen 3 core ?

There is more than one Gen-3 Armor Core.

The Mark VII is the Spartan-IV Standard.
The Mark VI also had the Gen-3 upgrade, which is why Chief has a new design.
And whatever Spartan Laurette Agryna is wearing is an armor core in the Gen-3 lineup.

I know the chief is in gen 3 6 but I thought the core was gen3 as a platform so I thought 6 would be part of the mk7

Gen-3 referres to the design standard.

Classic Halo is Gen-1
343 Halo is Gen-2
And this return to similar-to-classic is Gen-3.

Ys as I said I understand the classifications of gens.
I just thought that all gen 3 variants would come under the mk7 core banner

Nope.

Also fun fact, the Mark VII started as a Gen-I platform, with MJOLNIR Gen-II having the Decimator and Navigator armor sets being the Mark VII test models.

Gen-3 turned Mark VII into the standard issue for Spartan IVs.

Yeah although naomis mk is the only one so far to show indication of the nano reconstruction tech seeing as it would make these variants obsolete

Nano-Reconstruction wasn’t unique to her model of MJOLNIR. She was just utilizing the first model to have nano-tech.

Well thats not possible, given how heavily the cmod gen1 mark 6 was altered while John was in cryo, it must have had nanotechnology to account for the changes.
The decimator model doesn’t appear to have the extreme capabilities of the mk7 gen one as it is described in the novels.
So as of now in the lore naomi 010 is the only mjolnir capable of actively repairing/modulating and upgrading itself.
The gen2 decimator appear to have limited availability option but not full reconfiguration potential.
Gen 3 suits opted for a continuation of the gen2s modular components for personalisation and the gen1s approach of multiple variants both features that would not be required should the platform meet halseys specifications for the mk7 mjolnir platform.

Sadly yes and no.
343 ret-conned to say that John’s specific version of the Mark VI had nano-tech, and that Cortana rebuilt his suit while he was asleep out of boredom.
This was their poor attempt at explaining his redesign… even though all the weapons, vehicles, and other design aesthetics of the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn and its munitions were also redesigned.

Decimator armor has the description of its design details being very “hush-hush” among the UNSC upper brass. Here are the item descriptors -

Decimator Helmet
DECIMATOR helmets have a design lineage that stretches back to the final years of the Covenant War, though few Spartan or UNICOM commanders are privy to the full details.

Decimator Body Armor -
The DECIMATOR is Materials Group’s attempt to reengineer key improvements of the Mjolnir Mark VII prototypes. The most successful of these efforts is the suit’s protean energy shield, which can be partially reshaped and sculpted.

Given that these descriptors are brief, yet allude to the fact that the designs are classified materials and the fact that MJOLNIR Mk.7 Gen-1 had nanomachines, it is safe to assume that given their success in the Gen-1 versions the design trait will carry over into Gen-2 and Gen-3 models.

Dr. Halsey was made a prisoner of ONI while they developed the Spartan IVs and the MJOLNIR Gen-2 platform.
Now she is back in action as an asset that is VERY CLOSELY MONITORED as she works on and approves of designs for the MJOLNIR Gen-3 platforms, which now go for individual armor modulation instead of full armor kit replacement.

At least that is the lore reason. In truth, 343 realized that players prefer the Halo Reach model of armor customization over the Halo 4 and Halo 5 models.

They’re gonna have to be creative with that seeing as H3 won’t have nearly enough content for a full 100 level BP.

But we know that John’s mkVI was a standard issue variant and field tested on Cairo by Maria ive never seen it mentioned it was unique from any other Spartans, halsey had better chances to outfit blue team with bespoke suits than John but didn’t.
I dont recall 343i ever specifically saying only John’s had nanotechnology.
If you have a source please share.

The decimator is specifically touted as a success in regards to shield shaping only. That only adds weight to my claims.
Also gen2 started before halsey was incarcerated. She was only under oni lock and key for a short period post spartaniv were operational. Oni just didn’t involve her in production. The interview/debrief/interrogation prologue was set after onyx by the time oni got to her in the kilo five series the spartan 4 program was well under way and had multiple mjolnir contractors involved.

And as I pointed out individual modules are redundant in the presence of full nanorepair and adaptation.
We know from shadows of reach the gen3 platform cant adapt to suit needs. We also know that time was short for production of gen3 and much of the R&D was based in software solutions to counter the created.

I’m well aware of the lore and real life reasoning behind it all yes.

No, the Gen 3 is Master Chief/ Blue Team’s new/original armor
