Something I liked about Halo Reach was the idea of creating custom challenges- something that I found to be highly entertaining to try to make the most impossibly difficult challenges to send to my friends. Whatever happened to those?
I wondered the same thing when Halo 4 first came out. But for some reason, I don’t think 343 will set up the custom challenges like Bungie did in Reach. In any case, I too miss them ):
I think because it was they made ranking up so quickly that they did not need it anymore, but thus I’d love the challenges as you could set a challenge & if you got it accomplished, you had permanent proof of it. 
So, I think they should re-instate it for making challeges & whoever is Max Rank don’t get the reward, & whoever hasn’t got Max rank can rank up & design fun challenges.
I kept finding that people hated the custom challenge system because people ‘abused’ it- which I found translates to ‘they used it in lieu of matchmaking’
