When will the Halo 4 File Share work?

I have two questions for you 343.

When will the Halo 4 File Share work correctly so I don’t have to search a gamertag for a cool map?

AND

When will the Halo 4 File Share appear on the Halowaypoint.com so I can share screenshots with my friends over facebook?

343 said that they don’t know when it will be available.

Not sure but I guess the same time the release the file share.

Yeah, the lack of the file share has literally killed this game for me =/… sad, because I really enjoyed everything else. But the lack of community support is truly sad.

No private groups, no montages(unless you have a capture card, and even then you can’t tag files correctly >.<), and no solid forums… 343 really dropped the ball on such a good opportunity =/

I think I saw somewhere that they said it will be available in “early 2013” but I wish they could be more specific than that. I’m getting a little tired of waiting for this feature to be activated.

I have a thread where they said Early December of 2012… so I’m kind of over it -_-

its a sad thing, it will probably be up in 6 months when they work out all the kinks. my theory is that they within the last month scraped whatever they had and started fresh for stickies and giggles.

same, the worst part is, they had literally years to do this. I couldhave learned programming and at least had something going by that time to be updated for looks and more features later…

I think they should pay Bungie to get it working for them.

My guess is that the most downloaded files and recommendations WILL NEVER work in game… maybe on Waypoint if we are lucky.

What’s embarrassing is that we are about to get a second DLC next month and still no file share.

File share should have been included in the 65$ we paid for the game- Low priority fix.

DLC to make more money off an unfinished game- High priority.

I really wanted to like 343 but they’re just focused on milking a popular franchise they had nothing to do with (except for a few ex bungie employees).

343 is hard at work trying to get the file share browser working, with “something new” that is causing the bulk of the problems. When they know when it will be ready, they will tell us. They are also working on the TU. They can’t just change something here and there and expect it to be flawless, fixing one bug can cause many more in its place. They have to play test, code, play test, code and so on until fixing one thing, doesn’t break something else.

Certain Affinity handles the Maps, not 343. They are a separate entity who’s sole purpose is to code and playtest the maps. That’s why we are getting the maps at the pace we are, not because of anything related to 343.

Well said. It really sucks that 343 is working on new content for the game when some of the content that is already supposed to be in the game is not working.

All of you are dumb. 343i is doing an amazing job considering their task at hand. Be patient. Eventually they will have everything worked out. They had deadlines to meet so EVERYTHING isn’t going to be perfect.

Why do i still play this game ?.

some answer can be found …

> I can access my File Share in-game, but I can’t find it on the Halo Waypoint website.
> Web access to your Halo 4 File Share will come online next month. Your in-game File Share, which features 25 slots, is fully functional in the interim.

Task at hand? Their task was they released a game before it was ready. And by the time “everything” has been worked out it will be you and 343 employees left to play the game.

I don’t see file share being fixed until the TU and 343 announced that won’t be out until late Feb.

I would imagine that it will be fixed in the TU in Feb.

Keep in mind that even though the File Share is precious to you guys, it was low priority on 343i’s list compared to other things, and not without good reason.

Nonetheless, I DO hope that they have added a few more new options in the couple of extra months that they will have had to work on it.

Here’s an excerpt from the 12.12 Halo Bulletin which will give an updated expectation:

> We expect both Search and web access to come online in early 2013, and we’ll provide another update in January.

From: NEWS: The Halo Bulletin: 1.9.13

> I won’t sugarcoat this; I know it absolutely sucks that this feature still isn’t ready to go. Once we have a firm grasp on the expected release date, we’ll share it with you. As of right now, it’s not looking like it’s going to hit in January. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I’d rather be honest than not.

this really is a bit ridiculous.
i like the game and all, but i hate how it shipped with broken or unfinished features.

i hope this won’t become a problem with halo 5.
