When will the devs quit ignoring the obvious?

http://www.halocharts.com/2012/chart/dailypeakpopulation/all

When will 343 and -Yoink!- realize that their ship is sinking faster than the Titanic? No game has ever dropped as many players so quickly. Three years after launch Halo 3 had around 150,000 people playing a day.

Nobody wants to play this Big Team based, laggy, messy game.

File Sharing is broken.

The servers are laggy and a mess.

All the maps were made by Certain Affinity and are terrible, the game might as well be called Haven 4 because its the only good small map.

The sandbox is broken, the Boltshot can outshoot the Scattershot in any engagement.

Challanges had no thought put into them (how are we supposed to kill several thousand people with a Plasma Pistol to get Mastery?!)

No real ranking system

No custom game options and almost nothing new in Forge.

Fix the game, fix your support staff, find something to unscrew the people who bought the limited edition, or this game will be dead by next year.

Bro it’s a Beta and most of us have moved on to a more finished product aka COD!

> Bro it’s a Beta and most of us have moved on to a more finished product aka COD!

hahahaha you must be a cod fanboy… get out of here you troll… I own black ops 2 and barely touch it. Everything in that game is broken.

Big Team based laggy game?

I’m sorry, but i like playing Big Team and it’s not laggy at all.
honestly don;t get this talk of “laggy game” Halo 2 and 3 lagged more than Halo 4.

They also announced before lauch File sharing will be down until December so complaining about something that has already been explained is stupid.

I see no issues with the Boltshot, i don’t even use it either. It’s pretty easy to counter/evade.

there are still many custom game options, just not as many as previous Halo’s. I can’t fully comment on that though as i never really play customs.

and they have announced time and time again that there will be a CSR system coming early 2013

When will haters stop using the inaccurate population argument to show that Halo 4 is a terrible game?

They’re the developer. They don’t need a 3rd-party website to know the exact stats about their game. They’ve acknowledged the issues. They’re working on solutions.
So go ahead and keep ignoring that they acknowledged bugs and glitches and are working to get a patch out (and have already fixed some). Mindless dev-bashing will get you nowhere.

  1. Exactly, not as many custom options…why? Why would they remove mainstays like Assault and Territories? Why would they kill every single Infection custom? No more Fatman, or Halo on Halo (the race with the zombie sniper), no more Zombie Cars, they ruined thousands of game opprotunities.

  2. Its halfway through December and still no fire sharing, and it should have been working since launch.

  3. A real ranking system should have been in the game to begin with, and considering they cant figure out how to release a simple map pack and a 108Kb Specialization code, I seriously doubt their ability to impliment a real ranking system.

Again, they never should have published any population numbers, because then none of us would know what the population is like.

It makes no difference. I still find games immediately, which is all I care about, so how many other players are also playing makes no difference to me unless it’s like less than 1000 players or something. Even when Reach was less than 20,000 people online, I still had no problem finding a game in any playlist within 30 seconds… which is all that matters.

The point is, if they didn’t publish the population, nobody would be any wiser as to what it is because you still find games right away.

When will people just accept the fact that they are working on the issues and stop acting like chicken little? Seriously. Its not even christmas yet either (which will boost the population). How many times has this argument been argued about?

And for your information, I do enjoy playing BTB. Just because your opinions state you don’t, doesn’t mean its that way for the rest of the community…

Dont really care about the customs tbh.
Dominion is pretty much the new territories take anyway.

Exactly, halfway through, meaning theres still half of December left.

Again, if you MUST have a rank system t enjoy a game, you’re rather sad. Games are not only about fancy numbers next to your name.

They’ve done a right good job fooling Waypoint if that’s the case. OP points stand in my experiences.

I beg to differ. I bought Crysis 2 for 360 and it was dead within a month. What went from 100k playerbase in the first week, then went to 10k three weeks later. When Crytek abandonded the game still badly broken after the about the third month of release, it dropped to less than 5k. And then they had the audacity to put up a map pack for sale expecting people to buy DLC. Needless to say the map pack was a total flop.

I reckon just on the Halo name alone this game will survive with a stable average 50k+ playerbase.

the only reason CoD bo 2 is finished is cause it’s a -Yoink- copy and paste

So, they DIDNT fixed the hiding on the walls in Complex and Haven glitch and the instant reload for the boltshot? They just magically fixed itself after a few weeks?

343 is a component of Microsoft. I can assure you that they don’t care.

When was their communication better? Before release when they were trying to maximize the hype, or now, after people have paid for the game?

They. Do. Not. Care.

oh god, Crysis was horrible, bought it a month after release, tried playing online matches and was waiting to join a match for over 5 minutes each time.
xD

Seeing as how your first sentence was false I didn’t bother to read the rest of what you said. Do I need a ranking system since that seems to be what bothers a ton of people? No. The one in now is fine. What bother with anything else?

You just want to laugh at people worse than you. Don’t lie. You want to sit there and stroke your epeen. Halo is halo. I still enjoy the game even if you don’t. And know what? So do other people. I am so SORRY that they couldnt cater to everything you wanted them too. become a developer yourself and fix it then. Oh wait…You wont.

And before anyone -Yoinks!- at me for being a no lifer. Or halo fanboi or a 11 year old. Or even someone who lives in his moms basement… I am in the Marines and…Ok ya got me on the fanboi part.

All that being said I still have problems with this game. But I also do with bf3. And if you took what was said on those forums at that games launch youd assume no one would still be playing it.

My major concern right now are the maps. Sure we can make them in forge, but they look boring. They didn’t put any “competitive” thought into the map.

Every single map except for Haven has to look like it came from real life. They all have randomly placed rocks, crates, or other nonsense that just doesn’t make a good map. I was hoping to see Forerunner style maps, but the only one is Haven.

There are only 4 symmetrical maps in this games out of 16 total maps so far.

Abandon - Asymmetrical. This map that should only be played in attacking/defending gametypes.

Adrift - Symmetrical, This map that plays most gametypes very well. The only thing I find wrong with this map is the somewhat randomly place crates and canisters.

Complex - Asymmetrical map. Horrible map that does not belong in matchmaking.

Erosion - This map isn’t even in matchmaking and it probably shouldn’t be.

Harvest - Symmetrical. Too big for competitive play. Only good for big team games.

Haven - Symmetrical. I like this map, but the initial spawning doesn’t seen completely fair. Instead of open/closed spawn it should be red/blue spawn.

Impact - This map isn’t even in matchmaking. The forged Relay map should be though.

Longbow - Asymmetrical. A large big team map.

Meltdown - Asymmetrical. A large big team map.

Ragnarok - Asymmetrical. A large big team map.

Ravine - This map isn’t even in matchmaking. The default versions of this map would only suite big team.

Shatter - Asymmetrical. A large big team map.

Solace - Semi-Symmetrical. This is a decent map for competitive play, but the rocky base seems a little unfair. I don’t know why they can’t make both bases the same.

Vortex - Asymmetrical. A large big team map.

Wreckage - Asymmetrical. A large big team map.

Naw buddy, however we can compare the two games as far as finshed product if you want. That arguement will leave you feeling depressed though.

First time I ever bought a COD game…Ever… I would say I was more of a Halo Fan boy…

Sorry the numbers speak for themself. almost a 80% decline in player population in 1 month. I think that the answer is clear enough, Halo 4 is a Beta at best.
