I’ve sunk 86 hours into Infinite on PC now and I love this game but myself and many AMD card users have been having so many issues with framerate and stutters
I can’t really bring myself to play the campaign again because of the crashes and instability.
What puzzles me is the difference in performance between Nvidia and AMD cards, its insane how poor the AMD card run this game.
Hoping to see more optimization soon because I’d love to replay the campaign again!
It is possible the issue is on the AMD side of things rather then the 343 side of things. That said the game overall does need some improvements on PC. Since 343 just came back from the holidays this past Monday I’d imagine we won’t see any updates till mid January at the very earliest.
It’s not just AMD users, it affects everyone. There are certainly some performance differences (AMD cards seem to run faster in lighter areas, while nVidia cards are faster in heavy areas) but both are significantly underperforming, on top of the CPU optimization issues, frame pacing issues, and cutscene stuttering.
Nvidia has been better with their drivers in the DX11 era but I was under the impression that drivers should not be as much of an issue in DX12? It’s also a bit odd because Xbox uses AMD tech, so if anything one would expect it to better suited to that, given that it works mostly without those issues on console.

They have stated that they don’t want the game running at more thatn 60fps on any hardware. That’s why the 3080ti only gets 80fps at 1080p in order to discourage people who want more than 60fps at lowest settings to play on pc. They have said they will not be fixing the issue as to them the game runs exactly how they want it to.
Where did they day this? Because that makes no sense at all. It’s not a frame cap, it’s genuine optimization issues.
I’m just making stuff up since the only official thing they have ever said about pc performance is that “Halo infinite will offer a good experience on pc” which is clearly a lie so now I’m lying too about halo infinite on pc except my lies are actually more believable.
Frankly, this game should have been Xbox exclusive for a year. Maybe that would have allowed “343 incompetent” to deliver at least something slightly better than what we got.
why worry about some obscure issue due to millions of hardware combinations possible on a PC and any one may cause some issues. what a waste of time that could have been spent on actually making a great game.
I wonder when - if ever - Bonnie Ross will take responsibility and resigns.
Her track record of failed products is long and people are being laid off every day for way less lack of accomplishment at M$FT.
Remember it’s a 10 year plan, so probably 2027 after 343 gets BTB fixed.
not sure where you got these metrics from but I use a 3080ti on 1440p resolution. At low settings I get between 150fps to 240fps consistently.
