The halo games can only go so forward until it is brought back to the ‘past’ within the universe. At what point do we reel it in to the Human-Covenant War, or before it? What historic event in the halo universe should be the setting to a future title? Would a time skip by a few years or even decades be an acceptable option, like it was in Halo 4?
If the Created Story Arc ends how I expect it to, it will be the perfect place to pause the story, allowing us to go back to the Forerunner/Flood War, giving us the chance for new story, with new characters, and Flood forms/tactics far more dangerous than anything they did in Halo 1-3.
I’d like to see some more prequels during the covenant war but they also have some huge opportunities with the current timeline as there are multiple factions, smugglers, pirates, and broken colonies all over the galaxy that can provide some new perspectives and different styles of games.
I hope they take the franchise back to its roots, like Sonic Mania, making old Halo fans cry with tears of joy.
Id like to see perspective from a different race. possibly a fps where you play as Atriox through his creation of the banished and its rise against the covenant. only problem is that strays a little too far from halos roots
It will be sad when they have to move away from Chief’s story most likely if Steve Downes retires, but it was bound to happen.
I think Halo 6 will end with the Flood returning to the galaxy, beginning the final act of the story. Halo 7-9 being the conclusion to the story.

They already tried that… Cortana and the Created is a direct result of people complaining there was no more desperation with humanity being the under-dogs.

When Halo 4 was announced, it was announced as the beginning of the ‘Reclaimer Saga’. Whatever game comes after Halo 6 will link directly into it as 5 has to 4.

Um, I was talking more about gameplay, like removing the spartan abilities…
I would say they should set it in the Human-Covenant war. I’ve planned out an entire Halo ‘spinoff’ game set during this period but you know, one can dream.

In a way, that is gameplay. Especially since the Spartan Abilities are a result of tech-advancement.
I would love to see a game or maybe a series about the forerunner flood war when the flood was at their strongest. I know we know how that story ends but we knew how reach ended and that was still fun. Slowly being depleted and fighting for the survival of the galaxy with highest tech weaponry? sign me up.
