Mainly Gungnir and the pieces that haven’t returned
By Season 4 most likely.
They want to ensure that all Armor Cores will probably get some new stuff every season, so that if a player as a favorite armor core, it doesn’t get neglected. Mark VII is probably going to see new stuff derrived from Halo 4, Halo 5, and Halo Online’s armor roster; so it will be the one to last the entire 10 year span plan of Halo Infinite. This would ensure that no matter what, there will be some content to unlock for the default armor core.
As for the others? If it isn’t fractures armor, it will likely have items rotating in the shop when a fractures event isn’t live.
That’s a weird answer.
because I’m pretty sure they said in the last video blog about season 2 that armor cores would no longer be a thing. Starting sometime in Season 2 and Starting with Visors and shaders they are going to abolish the core system until everything is cross core.
Around 51:25 of this video they address this.

The Armor Core system would technically still be a thing tho, as you will essentially be choosing what your Spartan is wearing as an Armor Base, while all the other cosmetics would just be upgrades and utility applications.
Would be nice to see. I have used Gungnir since Reach, and its exclusion was the main reason I didn’t bother buying the S1 Battle Pass.
There are also some discrepancies between the original armour pieces and the current ones. For example the Sapper Rig chest piece is missing its grenade belt, and the left Security shoulder is missing its Kukri. I like the new options but the original pieces should be available for those that want them.
Also, the Mark V core should be given to everyone for free. We don’t even need any free customization options, but please give us the core. This way if something nice appears in the shop we aren’t forced to either a) miss out, or b) buy the S1 BP ($10) plus the armour set ($12)
To think you’ll have to wait 2-3 years to get items that were shown off before the game’s launch kinda makes me sick…
