When will 343 stop lying about the ranking system?

My buddy and I just did our 10 qualifying games for Team Arena…

He played way better than me throughout the whole ten games…

He’s Gold 5 - I’m Platinum 6…

How does this make any sense?

Ok ok, I know it doesn’t make any sense and all, but when was 343 lying?

because if its only about wins and losses - we should have the same rank…

I heard from Waypoint posts that it actually factors in KDA in your first 10 matches, that may or may not be true.

Exactly - so its broken…

Like I said - and this isnt the first time we’ve experienced this - even if it was actually about performance - there’s no reason he got such a low rank while I got a high one when he actually performed better than I did…

Its frustrating because now if we search the playlist together - the teams aren’t really balanced - the team is only as good as it worst player…

And I can’t get CSR off beating Golds - its ridiculous

I just looked at your last 10 games and you placed higher than him 7 out of 10 games, team arena is more objective based so I am assuming KDA isn’t waited as heav as stronghold captures or flag captures. Seems to be reasonable you ranked higher. Team Arena is more objective and you did score higher 7/10.

Edit: I looked at the 10 matches that placed your Team Arena rank.

In my 10 matches of breakout, I got KDA of like 1.5 in several of them, yet I lost most of them. Now I’m bronze 2. Really frustrating.

Also, it takes into account your previous months rank. Or so it’s rumored.

yup - youre right i did do a lot more objective work

To be honest this happened in slayer last season - so I assumed the system still didnt make any sense

But maybe team arena isn’t the best example - because I definitely did more objective work.

See thats what I’m thinking - it’s not actually a fresh start - they still take into account your previous seasons rank - and even the my buddy is really good - I do play a lot more.

There are likely many variables, if I cared more about this I would research it.

I would say previous month probably sets limitations to keep people from boosting etc

My buddy got on last week and we played 10 and lost quite a few and there were games were he had 0 kills since he has not played in months and he got placed like diamond1. He for sure had a negative overall k/d through those 10 games of break out, and I think maybe we went 5-5 win/loss. not entirely sure.

I just HATE going into team arena and getting some “ONYX” players on my team but they legit have no idea how to play the objective games types at all and I out preform them and actually play the objectives and get put in like plat something.

Ranks=random formula. All there is to it.

They haven’t said a thing on ranks except if you win your rank rises and if you lose your rank drops. As far as I know if I lose a bunch of games I will eventually drop a rank and if I win a bunch of games I will eventually rise a rank. Where are the lies?

As as for the formula, who knows. If you have trouble beating golds, you shouldn’t be platinum btw.

your CSR from the previous season is taken into account.

its possible because i use to go into platinum after placement matches the season after i would get diamond and now i can get onyx after placement matches.

I’m going to tell you guys something… I’m sure someone can take the time to prove it but I’m gonna go from memory here and I’m sorry that I’m not backing this up with proof/links what have you…

If I go through 10 qualifying matches by myself - I have never gotten anything lower than diamond 1

But if I play with a friend - I always fall somewhere in platinum and they always get something lower than me…

It never fails - even if I think I played worse - they always place lower - but I dont usually get diamond if I roll with a team…
Maybe saying 343 is lying is a little harsh - but they have not explained how this works in relation to what we see - and I’m not so sure anyone questions it much…

So i’m a 91 in XP - is it because my buddy is a 40 something?

I’d like to know - does it make a difference if I team up with people of “seemingly” (keyword there) low experience… I thought the two were supposed to be seperate - playlist rank and experience rank?

I’d just like to know if it’s smarter to qualify with higher xp players on my team? Is that how they are stopping boosting?

because your friend is probably a lower rank and his rank makes you play less skilled people
