Okay so I got the game (physical copy) today and installed the game and downloaded the 9GB and then load the game to get an error message along the lines of “unable to validate DLC with Xbox Live. Please ensure that required DLC is installed”.
i cannot get past the main menu with this and now I have come to learn that there is a whitelist on the game and I can only play the campaign whilst disconnected from the Internet which is annoying. How come people can play and stream the game and I have to play offline and can’t even talk to my friends?

Thanks guys for the responses. I understand it but it’s just a bit annoying I can’t talk to friends in parties etc. While doing the campaign but thanks. Any idea when they’ll release it so i can go on XBL while playing? Hopefully Sunday/Monday

Did you not read the previous post? On October 27th, which is a Tuesday, you and everyone else will be able to play it on Xbox Live. Since, you know, that’s the release date.
The people already playing it on Xbox Live are part of the press or families thereof.
I got the digital copy. It is hard to sympathize with you, cause I can’t play a freakn thing. I don’t even get to see the menu.
Sorry you got the game early, bruh. Sorry you get to play a little bit before everyone else. Sorry you don’t have to play a still broken MCC to get your halo 5 fix on.

Haha sorry man, there’s a small games shop not far from my town and they always get the games a few days early. I had Halo 4 quite early also. Just a bummer I can’t speak to friends whilst doing the campaign that’s all.

Your confusion is understandable, however for months 343 has stated that those with the LCE will get the digital code early, or they can trade it in for the disk, also early. I don’t know if you got the LCE or not though. There are a lot of people who got their game early and cannot play on Xbox Live until the official release just like you.
And those people who get to stream and play early are reviewers and popular streamers, which the latter seems unfair to me, but at least they’re not just your average joe who simply gets to play it early.

Oh see now that clears it up for me. I remember seeing that people who get the LCE would get an early code but completely forgot and I did not get LCE just the regular copy. But thanks for clearing it up.
If you have the disc, you may be able to go offline and play campaign. Otherwise, you’re locked out until 12:00am, Tuesday. People that are streaming and creating videos about Halo 5 have reviewer copies of the game. There’s an embargo in place, preventing said content creators to reveal certain things. There’s a reason you can only see videos of missions 1, 2, 3, and 8.
Twitch live broadcasting, I hear, is a different story, but I’ve gone dark outside of these forums, so I can’t say for sure.

Isn’t the dmr 5 in regular slayer and 3 in breakout?
Well heck… I got the Limited Edition (for the Chief and Locke statue) AND the Halo 5 console… Would love to have been able to be playing to Campaign… That’s horse poo.
I’m almost finished soloing the campaign on Legendary. Think of it this way… You’ve completed the campaign and have badass armor, while the others get started with campaign. You already finished.
Well since our friends in New Zealand should be playing the game right now (it is the 27th there now), I’d imagine the whitelist has been removed by now,
