Okay guys,
So after browsing the forums lately, I saw some posts about killstreaks and killcams. Now, I’m fine with final kill killcams, but for me killstreaks crosses the line.
Now, I’m not going to get into this until I know more about it, so has this been confirmed, and where.
Please post a link if you have one.
Silent
Never. Ignore the rumors. Wait till E3 for info on the Ordinance Drops.
It’s all rumour and speculation. Wait until the Microsoft Press Conference tomorrow to find out more.

Thanks guys, I’ll wait til tomorrow.
I just… This would break the game for me. Being a COD and halo player, I would rather keep the games seperate, they play very, very differently and I would like to keep it that way.

Totally, If there were killstreaks I’d NEVER go into those playlists. I could deal the other stuff every once in a while but not killstreaks.

Exactly. I don’t care about sprint really, and bloom doesnt bother me much, but dear god if they bring in killstreaks…
Frankie is right, there are some thing COD does brilliantly, its also a completely different game, bent on different playstyles and fairly unbalanced gameplay… So some things if not most should not cross over.
it’s not a killstreak your thinking of in CoD. don’t worry, Halo 4 isn’t gonna be missile explosions throughout a game. it would be more of an enhancement after reaching a goal, from what i can guess.

That actually wasn’t really my worry. Some things work in halo, some things don’t. This would definitley be one of the things that doesnt…
It may be referring to personal ordinance drop. I don’t know completely how they work. It could be a killstreak for just a personal power weapon idk. I’d wait for the conference and e3 as well…

Well, Bloom isn’t quite in Halo 4, it’s different than it was in Halo:Reach. Most people just think it’s visible, like the Sniper from Reach. Other than that though, I don’t think it makes sense anyways. I’ll give a small example.
Guy #1: Get’s 5 kills and 0 deaths: Awarded a Shotgun (Or something)
Guy #2: Get’s 10 kills and 3 deaths: Awarded nothing
Just the principle of giving something extra to players because they are doing better doesn’t seem fair to me. From my example though, Guy #1 was +5 and basically got 5 kills for his team, and was rewarded. Guy #2 was +7 and basically got 7 kills for his team, and was more useful, but is rewarded nothing. Fair, No?

I personally think that the streak won’t be reflected off of k/d or if you have 0 deaths. If anything, it’ll be fair like cods system, for ex:
Killing spree: granted shotgun/sword
Frenzy: granted railgun
And so on… it may also depend on the size of the map…of what weapon you get. I doubt you’d get a sniper on a small map…

For bloom, it sounds that way for the DMR, but Killa KC (MLG playtester) said the pistol was rendered almost useless.
As for Kill Streaks: Agreed. If I get awarded items on my killing spree (not that this is confirmed of course) I’m going to feel cheap about using them. I went 32 7 in a mathc of MLG and didnt get one Killing spree, but I was way more useful to the guy on my team who went 7/7 with a killing spree. Why should he be rewarded… (PS: this actually happened, of course he got no reward but…)
I just… I have no idea how to make killstreaks work in halo, its almost as bad as unlockables (which screams unbalanced)

I think thats what he meant…
And honestly, I would much rather work for my gun. Because having your team get destroyed while the enemy team gets better and better weapons isnt going to help anyone. In fact, that will produce more and more rage quits.
Homefront is the only game on 360 that has managed to have killstreaks, vehicles, perks and “buyable weapons” as well as unlocks, and still managed to balance it. Then again the Homefront devs listened to the community and also choose to focus on balance, not gimmics and “super hero abilities”. Homefront is still a solid game and despite it’s old and population low, finding a lag free 32 player games with similar skilled opponents, is done within 5-10 seconds any day of the week.
Halo Reach has yet to achieve such “feat” and I’m afraid the same goes for Halo 4. Let’s just hope 343i focuses on who gets the most kills/helps the team, not the ones who camp for a good k/d but never even leaves spawn. Reward good players who take initiative and get kills, not the ones hiding.

Why are you implying they’ve been confirmed at all?
“it’s not a killstreak your['re] thinking of in CoD.” <— How do you know this?

I really didn’t like that guy’s response. I gave a good example of how CoD’s killstreaks aren’t fair and then he ignored hit and called it fair…
But yeah, people who do better in the game shouldn’t be given an award, the guns should be equally allowed to all players when dropped.

i really hope you guys dont think this is a good idea… this is just what we need, a player that is doing well, and beating down on the enemy team is then rewarded with a power weapon to beat down the enemy team even more, and make it impossible for the other to team to make a come back… might as well be a tactical nuke…

I don’t think anyone except for him wants Killstreaks in Halo 4.
