I don’t know if this is the right area or not, but yeah. When was the last time anyone here held a LAN Party?
I have invited 7 of my friends over to my place on June 15th and they are bringing their TVs, Xbox systems, and their copies of Halo 4 and we’regoing to connect them all together and play just for fun.
Actually, yes, quite frequently (See: More than one a year).
I don’t care what anyone says, Halo is always going to be fun at LAN parties. We generally don’t care about balancing or “Fairness” when we play at parties. Just smack talking each other and all around fun.
I’d say it’s the only way to properly play Halo. 7 of your buddies, drinks for days, and an internet connection that can take a beating (We don’t always play amongst ourselves.
On the “Proper Forum”, I think this would be more General than “Halo 4” specific. That’s just my two cents on that.
I have small 6-10 player LAN parties for Halo 2 quite often. It makes sense as it’s offline. With modern XBL it’s kinda pointless to LAN a game that you can play online. Recently I’ve been playing a ton of NHL 13 with friends and it’s always intense.
With Halo 4 I suggest you get even teams though unless you plan on playing a ton of FFA. Even with a fun mess around nature having uneven teams isn’t always that fun when it comes to LAN parties.
We get harsh with our playing. If it isn’t BTIS, we’re playing team games and seeing who gets the “Crutch” of the group and relish in seeing good friend be put on a team of weak friends.
Playing on “LIVE” may make them pointless at times, but we still get together. There’s just nothing like playing it with a ton of people in the room right there with you.

Isn’t there less lag and problems with weapon-projective spread and Kill Cams with LAN?
Constantly. To me, a LAN party is the definition of a good time. Online is a pale substitute.
If you want things to go smoothy, you should give some advanced thought to your maps and gametypes. Lots of great stuff in the map packs and on the fileshare.
Two months ago. We played Halo 4, Rock band 3, and Mario kart. Pizza was consumed, as was booze. Twas a good time. We’re trying to plan another one, but being busy adults is really lame

It sure is… Sounds like a good time only thing I would do different is Energy Drinks instead of beer. I don’t drink but hey it’d be more for you guys!

Haha we had those too! But I can’t partake in the drinking of energy drinks. Allergies suck
LAN parties are fun. All you have to do is get your friends together and play games. You don’t need crazy set ups or anything. Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2 are great for LANs as well!

I used to have them all the time. Now that I’ve moved across the country, we still have one huge one every year when I go home. Will have one this August. Excited!
(Halo 4 will not be there. Split screen is broken anyways, so yeah, no.)
Tried it once w/ Halo 4 and quickly realized there was a massive frame rate drop especially on forge maps w/ split screen. The best times were w/ CE when that was the only viable option for me. I rarely did it once Halo 2 came out b/c of XBL as great as playing on LAN is.
