Did they mean in vain of games like Fortnite, GTAOnline and even WoW? If true, I can see them upgrading/updating even graphic post launch. I mean if they intend to continue this game as platform.

This video really summarized best. This way, they can make new campaign missions without need for making new game for awhile. Like expansion?
I think when they mean platform I think similar to how they been doing the master chief collection
They meant in the line of live Service. Which co-aligns with those very games you mentioned. So yes.
Not necessarily a good thing in my opinion. Those games are too grindy and filled with way too many microtransactions.

Actually, Chris Lee said it WON’T be a live service. It’s essentially gonna be for new content what MCC is for old content.
Yeah I think we’re confused on how it works. Hopefully we know more in the coming months.
Fingers crossed it had tons of content we want so the launch has a meaty game and dosn’t feel lacking.

Um. Platform for 10 years is in essence what Live Service is.

They’re not gonna go the Destiny route where there’s public events and such. There’re gonna be Campaign releases and we’ll have free to play multiplayer. So instead of getting separate releases every 3 years, it’ll all be on Infinite. Honestly, this sounds like a pretty good deal for a platform. Just hope it’s executed properly.

Yeah it’s a big change in how halo is done but, like you said it executed properly it could make a better game. I know a few guys excited about the idea that Infinite could get graphics upgraded as well as features added in, and smoother than ever thank to the new engine. Smoother meaning less bugs and quicker updates for content .
Side note destiny one failed at the live service plan, but destiny 2 was a success. Why not try with halo? Worth a shot.
I have a feeling we’re gonna get campaign dlc with the gamepass/retail version and the free to play multiplayer will get maps and modes on a bi-monthly basis. Judging by 343’s wording I could imagine this Halo being supported for a long time quite heavily. Maybe not 10 years but for quite some time, at least until the next halo releases.

Let’s hope it is indeed executed properly.
However I’m keeping my optimism very low.

You and many others. Which is sad that many are not optimistic. But it’s 343s fault. This is all so new for halo, and it’s a big gamble. Plus all the other stuff, graphics, missing guns, yada yada yada. Luckily if it backfires at least more people will have exposure to more halo, maybe that can make the series grow.

If it backfires it could be a franchise killer. And console killer.

I know! This is huge and crazy risky! I rather they just make a really good clone of halo 2 or 3 just to appeal to people and sell a new Xbox. I hope they have a good plan. It makes me nervous and I want all this to be a hit with the gaming world. I have some hope looking at the other live service or platform style release games. Because a bunch of those did good overall, but that’s overall.
I feel like the pilot in the pelican that said “please don’t die” is 343 and the halo fans. Because halo is making big changes and trying to revamp the series with a new Xbox and way to play halo. Much like how the pilot was jump starting the Master Chief but didn’t know if it would work, but his life and John’s depends on it to work.

Agreed, I like that even after launch, they’ll be able to fix and upgrade the graphics. Will be cool.

Are you really encouraging 343 to ship an unfinished game??

Nah nah, I want them to have the graphics done by launch, however, when they put out new Campaigns they’ll be able to overhaul the graphics, which is a cool thing.
