When is the next update for halo 4 to increase ranks past 130??
Man , half of us are still stuck at rank 70, only special edition buyers got all the specializations ive only had two so far.Be patient.
At this point, we don’t even know if they will. As far as we know, SR-130 is the max rank.
Rumors are bustling that a 1-50 ranking will be implemented some time in Q1 if 2013, however confirmation of this remains to be seen.
Ive heard rumours that they may increase the max rank later in 2013 but not for a while, there no reason to either people should take their time going through a game not just max it too soon, plus there is loads of other things you can do at any rank like focusing on getting all weapon commendations master or protector master or something similar.

OP: As far as anyone here knows, SR-130 is the max rank for Halo 4’s Progressive Ranking System.
So this will just add a new secondary rank that will rank up and put you up agianst similarly skilled players, this could be great but it doesnt really increase the max rank as it might not add new specializations?
No new specs. 130 is the max. If you’ve hit it already like me, kudos. Other people won’t hit it for months. There will be an additional Skill Rank that is 1-50, but 130 is the max. Hence the emblem ‘MASTERY’ and the emblem ‘MAXIMUM’ and the notification ‘ALL SPECIALIZATIONS MASTERED.’
More ranks will come in 2-3 months when a 4th of the community is at least lvl 100.

I personally don’t consider these waypoint only CSR ranks to be a proper ranking system. Hence why I brought up rumors of an actual 1-50 ranking system akin to Halo 2 and Halo 3.
Just a question since your already SR130 im SR70 max for me at the moment doe it continue to take 10 ranks to get to the next specialization until youve done them all, also has anyone got an actual date for the release of more specializations for people who hadnt played before the 20th like myself?

Right now, you are being matched up with players based on invisible TrueSkill.
The Competitive Ranking System will simply let you see what rank you are.
We haven’t heard news on new Specializations/ranks for the SR ranks.
Halo 3 rank system needs to be back that was kick -Yoink-
Ah i see so it just lets us see what skill rank we have, thats nice, itll be more competitive always wanted to know my skill rank
Microsoft has been sending Specialization Codes in Xbox Live messages for those who are eligible and need them still.
However if your under 17 or did not play before November 20th, then you will be waiting till after the New Year when the cap is completely unlocked for everyone.
They probably will screw around with us and give us some crappy rank system that no one uses
Well im over 17 and at level 70 and have been for a week or so and have continued playing, i havent recieved any code…
Why assume this? so far they’ve done a brilliant job on halo 4 ive played and still own all of them (excluding war and ODST but ive played both) and aside from halo 2 this is the best halo so far!

Yes it is. It says so right there in the announcement that CSR is currently set to use an easy to understand and familiar 1-50 scale.

Right after that it says " (subject to change or alteration)"
If it is still on the 1-50 scale when they announce the release date/start talking about it some more, then you’ll be correct.
