When the Campaign is Finished

So since 343 has said Halo: Infinite will be a 10 year game, obviously they will be expanding to it. So, what if after completing the campaign, Chief needs to travel to another planet and leaves the ring.

Obviously we wouldn’t actually see this planet until that expansion is released, but this has me thinking. Since we have this large halo ring to explore, what if 343 has our customized spartans be deployed onto the ring to “gather more intel” or “disperse any remaining banished factions”. This would be a unique way to continue the next wave of Spartan Ops and at the same time progressing the overall story while using the large open world we are given until the next expansion comes out.

I only thought of this because once the campaign is finished, why would chief still be stuck on this halo ring?

So like a better version of Spartan Ops? I would be very much down for this honestly.
Let me rock four player Spartan deployments outta the back of a Pelican to new places to clean things up, like Destiny’s patrol routes but BETTER

Or what if the ring became almost like a giant Firefight map, that opened up more sections, the farther you progress, and different sections, will determine what enemies spawn in those sections. So really big sections could get boss encounters like a Scarab, or vehicles, while a smaller area gets just the standard waves and maybe light vehicles.

And give players who prefer singleplayer the option of an AI team of Spartans…

Only if the AIs good. I’d prefer balanced solo myself.

I don’t know, i thought it will finish in halo 6 with a royal rumble of UNSC, Banished, Flood, Prometeans and Covenant that Master Chief with Arby saving the universe.
And the rest of the games would be spin-off games, something like forerunner vs flood, the fall of harvest, the team headhunters, the black team story, there’s a lot of battles that we only can see on books or comics and have a lot of potential for videogames.

One of the things I’d like to see added is maybe some seperate one off levels/campaigns from others characters. As long as the main campaign is centered on Chief then I’d love to see some other perspectives from previous characters. I’d really like to see Locke given another chance for example. I feel bad he got so much hate and I personally just blame that on bad writing. Definatley would love to see more with Buck or the rest of Blue Team too. One other small note is that I’d love the idea of something like Spartan Ops returning. I think its completely underrated and the only reason it got so much hate was because it wasn’t firefight.

You think we are going to stay on the ring for the entire campaign?

If the game is as big as they say I doubt they would have the ring be the only place we visit. Definitely when they have already spent 5 years developing this title.

I think there may be a small deviation or two from the ring during the initial campaign (Something like a Pillar of Autumn type mission on UNSC Infinity or something), but that almost all of the campaign will occur on the ring. As for subsequent releases and addendums? I think that Zeta Halo will remain a main location even for those for quite a while; there’s just so much on a Halo ring to explore that even if the launch campaign is ambitious and expansive in scope, I doubt very much that it will do more than scratch the surface of what a fully explorable Halo ring can be.

It’ll be interesting to see how Shadows of Reach goes, though. It’s an interesting planet to bring back into the mix, and one that I never thought it’d be any fun or worthwhile to return to post-glassing (at least until the reterraforming projects in the 2580’s or whatever commence.)

Kinda like mombasa open city but in larger scale?

What are you basing this assumption on?
A Halo ring can offer a dozen of various regions including various climates, flora and fauna.
To be honest, I am almost sure hypothetical expanions will also play on the ring,
those things are huge and if 343i manages to use all the potential of a Halo ring
there won’t be the need to leave the ring at all.
