It’s seen in the ending cutscenes that Reach is being/has been terraformed. Since we don’t know when exactly that takes place, it could be near, or further future (than the events of Halo 5).
One clue is the ship in the background: Grey, box-y, levitated not by conventional means.

If the narrative requires it, Reach will definitely be used as a planet. I myself wouldn’t be able to as what purpose it would serve though

It used to have a lot of Farmlands. Planetary farm? Or re-use it for military purposes, as a testament to humanity’s tenacity?
Apparently, by 2589, Aszod has already been reterraformed, so I’m assuming humanity will have returned to Reach from the late 2570s to mid-2580s. I’m pretty sure the cutscene says the date in it. The ship in the background looks similar to other UNSC ship classifications, just less miltaristic, as it appears to be a colony ship. Its method of atmospheric levitation also looks about the same as our current ships.
I and lots of people were speculating us going to Reach from the first H5 trailer. Although that place was not even in the final game, it looked like the ark (desert), and somehow like Reach.
I hope that we can visit Reach whole cortana is destroying it or whatever in H6 with the Guardians. We can see noble team statues or whatever that is a memorial! Or even noble six’s helmet!

The Precursors will mistake Reach for a piece of juicy fruit and will slice it in half with their large kitchen knife.
My hope is that the Created begin to reterraform Reach in the near future, that way 343 could make the planet more viable to use in future media again.

I know that Reach was my least favorite game, on my least favorite planet. So that’s a single thing, I think.
In the ending cutscene of halo 5; is the planet behind the halo ring Planet Reach?
It looks like reach from the mountain ranges you can see.
Is it possible that the forerunner artifacts beneath reach could play a role in halo six?
Could the Reach have a way to stop cortana?

Nerratively, Reach served it’s purpose. It was the great calamity that tested humanity’s resolve in the dying days of the Covenant war. Now it’s just another glassed planet with some extra sentimental value attached to it. By Reach’s ending cinematic we know that the planet will be terraformed back to habitable levels and recolonized, but what would be that point for the series to go back there? I’m sure that you could do some cool stuff with it, but there’s nothing yoy could do on Reach that couldn’t be done with a brand new planet. For Infinite, I hope we stay on Zeta Halo for the entirety of the game. We haven’t had the chance to explore a Halo ring properly since 2004.
