I’ve heard a mixed array of opinions about whether it should have ended after 3. Some agree. Some say it should have ended after reach. Some like halo 4 and want it too continue. And some say halo 4 shouldn’t have happened. What do you guys think?
NEVAR!!!
No Jk, honestly I’d like about 3 more MAIN game story line game’s
And side games they can keep making forever IMO
Halo Books don’t have to stop IMO
As long as there’s a story to be told halo will keep continuity to make games, books and etc.
I will read, play and watch them all.
<3 halo
Well, if the next games deal with the Precursors and all the nightmarish horror they bring to the table, I don’t see anything after that really being all that worthwhile. When you’re fighting your creators, fighting some new aliens after all of that would seem pretty disappointing.
Not exactly sure, depends on how 343 Industries drives the series. I felt that Halo 3 was the perfect conclusion to Bungie’s trilogy however, I hope for 343 not to overuse Master Chief. There needs to be other heroes.
When Master Chief goes, they can continue the story with other characters and can still keep going with the games. For example, they can work on something before a certain time point or work on games that do not feature the Master Chief.
So my final answer is it depends on what 343 will do with the franchise.

Anyone else thinking ODST 2. If not, I would really like a story centering around a team of pelican pilots.

The great thing about Halo is that the universe is massive, Bungie and 343 have put themselves in a position where they have a lot of material to draw from. They don’t even have to make a shooter if they don’t want to.
I’d love to see another ODST game, although I would like to see some ODSTs from Buck’s squad be integrated into the Spartan-IV program. A game with a story centering around a team of Pelican pilots would indeed be very awesome, and I think Halo fans would love playing as them. It could be something like Star Wars Rogue Squadron.
Not like Mass Effect.
I don’t really like any of the voting choices… After this saga for sure though.
I thought it would have been cool if they ended Halo by connecting it to Bungies Destiny. There for ending Halos story but at the same time expanding the mythology of the game. But I know it’s highly unlikely almost impossible and I guess a lot of fans aren’t even open to that.

Halo 6 shall be the final chapter in the Reclaimer Saga, but I’m up for different story arks in the Halo Universe after.
It should continue all the while great stories and heros can potentially be made.
After Halo 5 and 6 they should put 117 in to retirement and move on to someone else and a different time frame.
Halo has the potential to be another Star Wars or Star Trek like franchise, where there’s a lot of different stories all wrapped up in one universe. There should be a point where Halo should retire John 117/Master Chief, as a main character, and either move him as a secondary character, or as a legendary character.
By secondary character, I do mean a character like Lord Hood, or Cap. Lasky, where they’re still apart of the story in some ways, but they’re not the character the player play as, or interacts with a lot throughout the game. He could become a Spartan Commander that is either the same level as Palmer, or a higher command level than she, to give the spartan branch a command structure.
By Legendary Character, I mean a character that’s talked about a lot, but either rarely seen, or not at all. IE the shadow broker in Mass Effect, the Xel’naga from Starcraft, and The Forerunners in Halo. The point of a legendary character is to be a source of courage for a character(s). To give an example, in the Mass Effect Animated movie, where James is the main character, he lives and acts based on Commander Shepard’s example, and often speaks highly of him/her.
I was always under the impression that if MS gave up on making Halo games, they would convert them into movies…So either way the franchise wouldn’t completely end until another 20+years. Also, there’s a lot of books that can still be written anyway. Even if chief’s story ends at some point, Halo as a whole will still continue.
Also, those who say Halo should have ended after 3 have no respect for Halo canon. Just saying.
