i want to play halo but im gunna be stuck at 70…no more fun…
Agreed, I’ll be at rank 70 shortly and it will be pretty wasteful to play a game that doesn’t allow you to rank up anymore because the developers decided not to include the other specializations at release.
I’ve been stuck at 70 for two weeks.
You’re not gunna get it unless someone who has an extra code gives one to you. They’ve already stated that all the codes were sent out and they’re not sending any more.
Is leveling up the only fun part of halo? I play to play. Levels just come as a byproduct.
It’s king of how in reach Lt. colonel was max rank for a while. However, that ended much sooner then this level cap will. I think the other specilizations not being released is more of a reward for LE buyers and those who received the specilization code rather than a punishment as the majority of the community considers it.

its not like you get game changing perks every 10 levels or anything
I avoided the issue by doing some research and buying LE.
Now I’m level 84 and having a lot of fun.

This is pathetic, I am not going out and purchasing another copy of Halo 4 just to get the other specializations from the LE. I still haven’t received my code through e-mail and now I am being told they aren’t sending out anymore codes.

Heres a question for those of you complaining (And I don’t mean to sound like a -yoink!-), Did you guys even PLAY, on or before the 21st?
I am with you on this. My email, trash and spam hold emails for 6 months and I did not receive the code for the 6 specializations. I have not changed my email either.
I played on the 6th and every day since.

It’s nothing like in Reach…
In Reach, your cR was stored if you were at the current cap of Lt.Col. In Halo 4, if you are at a spec. max (SR50,SR60,SR70,SR80,etc…) you do not accrue exp at all. Period.
So if you play while at those ranks, any from of exp gained, even commendations, is lost.
Permanently.
I know tons of people who met all the qualifications for the promotion that received nothing. So it is also untrue that all codes were sent.
It isn’t really punishment, but it feels like it.
Since Halo 2 you have been playing to rank up. To better yourself for bragging rights to your friends and against people you play with. Since Halo 3, we have been unlocking items and leveling up at the same time.
343I has officially stopped that for the time being.
If you are SR70, you will stay SR70 until they decide to unlock specializations, oh and by specializations, I mean ranks.
Think about it, you are stuck at Spartan RANK 70 and can’t rank up.
You paid $60 for a game that almost HALF of the ranking system is locked unless you bought the LE…THAT IS STUPID.
You can still unlock items by completing commendations, but you will never get the exp back.
I was at SR70 for a while but was one of the lucky ones to get a code and I did notice myself playing A LOT less while stuck at SR70. Halo 4 is really fun, but to be limited in your progress is absolutely NOT fun.
When you see yourself complete a commendation for 10,000 exp and know you won’t ever see that exp again, it’s demoralizing to say the least.
I was sent the email but I thought it was a spam message when I read the subject “your free gift is inside” so I deleted it without thinking. I find out my big mistake from a friend who tells me the next day he just got a code for all the specializations. I was like Fuuuuuuu—. I call MS support. They send me to these forums. I post on the forums, they say they will send codes to those who still haven’t redeemed to the xbox message center. I have not redeemed my code nor have I received message in my xbox live message center. I’m going to be capped at 70 very quickly. I don’t get it. If the specializations are in the game, why keep them from 90% of people? Why treat your fans and customers this way? Even the fact you sent out the codes at all tells me how wishy washy you are about the whole subject. Either make it available for everyone easily, or don’t do it at all! Now you’ve got yourself a genuine cluster %#@!.
Please, really. I qualify. Is it really so hard to send the codes again? Sheesh!!!

Do you really think there would be this many people up in arms about it if we didn’t? It’s an absolute fiasco.

I played on the day after the launch. I did not receive anything, as for alot of other people.
