When radar fix?

You’re right on. Radar is detrimental in that it provides a false sense of security. When an enemy can close in on you from across the map in seconds, radar is totally worthless.

Literally wouldn’t miss it if they removed it altogether as you get more info from audio cues through a decent headset. That being said you could maybe argue it’s unfair to anyone who is deaf that they have no replacement for those audio cues. I mean literally the only people the radar helps are campers who don’t move from one spot. This is a miniscule issue to be sorted in the grand scheme of things.

Just remove it completely. It’s only a crutch for people who suck anyways.

They don’t like the motion tracker cause it makes close quarters movement known to everyone. In casual play I like the tracker but in comp I prefer none.

I wouldn’t go this far, let no motion tracker stay a competitive thing.

Every time this topic comes up, the only people who don’t want it changed back seem to be people who try to use their preference to feed their superiority complex. Like they convince themselves that if they have that opinion, it makes them better or something lol. There was plenty skill-gap in H2, H3, and HR. The radar is something everyone has, so changing it just changes the way the game is played, not how hard it is. I hate the way smaller radar changes the game. I don’t know why 343 can’t just let Halo play the way it always has.

That’s exactly the point. Even if you don’t “stupidly bum rush” as he said, others will do and won’t be visible on radar until it’s too late.
There’s no way to play a smart (social) game with a radar so short, it’s like playing in ranked.

Maybe a bit too rude ahah, but I understand you, it’s a frustrating situation.
I’m watching this game decay since H4, but it was still Halo. Then H5 came out, and they knew that changing the game pillars was a bad idea.
And they did it again.

It’s already a no tracker thing. You literally can’t catch people “bum rushing” you until it’s too late.
It’s a tracker for campers. You camp in a spot, don’t pay attention to anything but the radar and strike a magnificent noob kill.

Sure you can, I counter people trying to bum rush me all the time lol.

Also, a larger motion tracker range would benefit a camper far more then the shorter ranged one as it’d let them know far earlier when someone was coming and give them more time to prepare.

You’re half right on this, but I’m looking at a bit larger situation: with a short range you could start camping from a shorter distance from the target. You need to camp less, in other word, so camping becomes easier.
From the target perspective, I have a higher chance to spot a camper if he doesn’t know he’s already in range.

Anyway, there’s a really wide range of situations, and what worked for 5 games it’s always a risk to change.
The risk was taken in H5, it was a mistake (made by hiring pro gamers consultants), they should have learnt from that.
They also said this game was a return to the origins, but “the evidence shows… that was lie”.
The game fundamentals should be kept and the game should be built on top of that.
