When people say.....

puts on flamesuit Hi, how are you? Good, now onto the topic.

So I’ve never played CoD, not even for a second, so when people use the word classes what exactly do they mean? Is it like a caste or specialty system, this load outs a grenadier, this on a rifleman, and so on? I’m a little lost and don’t feel like tripping over myself.

Ok so another oddball idea, what if SPARTAN IV’S were sectioned into a kind of caste system that catered to their specialty before entering the program and built upon their battle tested experience? Just a thought, not sayin it’ll happen but it’s a cool thought imo

Classes just = loadouts

Well that’s a misleading term now isn’t it

In CoD you choose what you want your primary weapon, secondary weapon, grenades, and perks to be. There is no caste/specialty system, you can choose whatever you want.

I don’t think anyone wants a caste system for multiplayer in Halo 4. Hell, nobody really seems to want a loadout system at all in Halo.

In Call of Duty, with the exception of pre-made classes, there are a number of “loadouts” that you can completely customize yourself.

For Example, in Modern Warfare 3, you have:

A Primary Weapon - AR, SMG, SR, LMG, Shotgun (I think.), and Riot Shield
A Secondary Weapon - Handgun, PDW, Launcher (RPG-7, other missile launchers, grenade launcher)

A Lethal Grenade - Fragmentation, Semtex (Sticky)
A Tactical Grenade - Smoke, Flash-Bang, Gas, etc…

Perk1
Perk2
Perk3

Strike Package (Killstreak reward sets)
Death Streak

And for most weapons you can chose one or two attachments depending if you have the perk or not. Attachments include sights, grips, damage modifiers such as full-metal jacket bullets, suppressors, and underbarrel-mounted grenade launcher, shotgun.

IN COMPARISON…

Halo: Reach had:

Primary
Secondary
Grenade
Armor Ability

Not So much in matchmaking as in spartan ops and co op campaign, just a random thought that I entertained for a moment

Don’t you love how people over exaggerate lol Just look at that there barely similar at all

Seem as your primary will most likely only consist of BR DMR AR other weapons of similar usage And not Snipers Rockets OR other Power weapons

Yanno when you put em side by side they aren’t alike at all lol

Since they’re both based on the same concept, that’s all that matters to haters and complainers.

But OP, what you’re thinking of would be more like Battlefield’s classes.

In Battlefield 3, there’s:
Assault Kit
Engineer Kit
Support Kit
Recon Kit

Each kit has their own weapons…

Assault Rifle for the Assault Kit
Carbines for the Engineer Kit
LMGs for the Support Kit
Sniper Rifles and Battle Rifles for the Recon Kit
(You also pick a side-arm. And then there’s PDWs, SMGs, and Shotguns that are available to all kits.)

Each kit their own role:
Assault is a Field Medic, you have a Health Pack that can heal teammates and you have a Defib paddles for reviving downed teammates.
Engineers have anti-vehicle weapons like launchers and mines, and a tool for fixing up vehicles. (And an EOD bot for other purposes.)
Support have Ammo Packs, C4, and a mortar.
Recon have spawn beacons, motion detectors, a vehicle painter, and a mini UAV.

Each Kit has their own purpose, but are all usable in a general role.

The only time “classes” come into play (for Reach) is during Invasion or some special gametype that allows you to spawn with a different weapon, nade, and AA. Most of Halo’s loadouts are just so you can pick your AA, most of the setup is still fixed.

In modern military shooters, you can start with a sniper or rocket from the get-go. Reach isn’t really a class-based game. It’s Halo with re-usable equipment from Halo 3

Other than halo I only play Rpg’s like fallout, well halo and fallout are all I play lol, I know what I like, I guess when I say castes I really mean a character build that your stuck with and build upon with that intention from day one, that would be cool. But that’s just me, lol, I’d like to see a lore exploring halo rpg one day to but that’s another thing entirely

" I used to be a Spartan Like you, but then Kat drove me off a cliff." LOL, you’re gonna get flamed if you suggest Halo as another Skyrim or Fallout. They can’t even agree on load outs let alone skill perks or dialog wheels. I understand though because I want Armored Core to be like Skyrim or Fallout. But hey to each his own game fantasy.

love the way you started this lol Puts on flame suit lol

I felt the need to cover my -Yoink- from the gate lol

Barely similar at all?

It’s the general system and idea, not the specifics. It is the idea of choosing a “perk” not the specifics of “3 perks.”

Oh god they’re here, head for the hills!!! runs away arms flailing butt flap of flamesuit open

Never played any thing but HALO

Sorry
