When people say halo has evolved, it makes me think that halo, which was once the most popular fps game FOR 7 YEARS, has changed into something which is isn’t even in the top 5 most popular games on xbox.
343i you can change the game into whatever you like, but it will never be a halo game unless it is in the top 3 most played games on xbox live.
I along with many others will close our mouths if halo becomes the most popular fps in the world, and you know what, we will enjoy the game again.
The reason we have no sprint discussions and everything is because we believe that is what is going to make halo stand out.
Do what you want, but if you do “evolve” something, it better be up at the top spot.

i dont considor halo 5 as a proper halo. I will only accept the change if its at the top spot, where halo belongs.

Any change or evolution to a series should be made for the benefit of the series, to strengthen a core and enrich game play
to keep fans of the old style while enticing and attracting new players in an effort to grow the franchise
Halo has not done this, it has changed for the sake of change in an attempt to stay relevant in an age of “modern FPS shooters” and as a result has lost its identity and what made it so special and unique in the first place
furthermore to this it has also alienated both its existing player base and its potential new players causing the population to plummet and players to leave the game in droves because the older halo games did the halo elements better and other franchises did the borrowed elements of game play better giving no one a real reason to continue playing because they got a better experience with both older halos and other franchises

So. I checked. The info is either backwards or that is the info for whoever had this Gamertag before me. I just picked it up a couple weeks ago. My previous GT before the change was Death NOOGA. This is an odd situation and i appologize.

H5 is the first game since Halo 3 that gameplay wise has made things great again with the new additions to abilities and balancing them with the gunplay and sandbox, which themselves are balanced really well. The problem, is that other uncompromising players like yourself have given up on the franchise and refuse to accept something other than a carbon copy of H:CE or 2.
Your view is also far behind the times. Games come out so frequently these days that the XBL Live numbers (which overall themselves are dwindling thanks most likely to mobile games) change constantly. These days EVERY game is online or connected to XBL, where back in the H2/3 days, only maybe half of the games had an online multiplayer to speak of.
Get your head out of 10 years ago. Gaming itself has evolved and you completely missed it.

So what games are out now that haven’t been around during H3’s lifespan (2007-2009)?
We’ve had Bad Company 1&2, Bioshock, CoD MW/WAW (MW2 finally dethroned H3 when it comes to XBL top10), Gears, several RPG’s and those are just the games that come to mind without spending any time on thinking…

Agreed. This is why I am very uninterested in playing Halo 5 or anything after it, based on what’s been changed.
I think it’s bad judgement to say something is or isn’t a halo game if it’s not in the top three. The thing is it’s still in the halo universe, it still has some of the mechanics from the original games. It “is” a halo game, it’s just up to you if you like it or not.

I honestly wish 343 would just stop this and go back. They tried all they could but failed. But the only way to achieve something is taking two steps forward one step back. Halo 4&5 are the steps forward now they need to take that step back. I personally don’t mind sprint but it’s not something that should be in halo, seeing as how sprint is the reason we can’t have many classic maps back without them being completely changed into something that it’s not supposed to be.

The problem is that you and other uncompromising players can’t see that the change halo has undertaken has been a detriment to the series and directly played a role in halos fall from grace
players like you would completely give up on the franchise if it went back to its roots and removed all the fluff its gained from other franchises over the years

all seriousness aside however like I said in my previous post, change and evolution is only meaningful if it enriches and helps the franchise
the changes to halo have not done with as indicated by the fact H5 has not only the fastest falling. Population of any halo but is also the least selling major halo title…
