Its been a year now since this game got released and they STILL havent fixed this ranking system? Surely it can only be soon?
Or do 343 just care that little about the players that we’re still gonna be matched up against high end Onyxs when we’re only platinum one, or getting matched up against teams of 4 when we search on our own?

MATCHMAKING FEEDBACK & DISCUSSION
Looking at your recent game history I can’t even see the scenario that you’ve described. Could you post a link to this game where you were plat 1 going up against a team of high end onyxes? Also if you’re being matched up correctly you should have a W/L of around 50 percent, if you start getting a lot higher than that the game is not doing a good job of matching you fairly. As far as matchmaking going by the size of your fireteam, that would be extremely nice, however the simple solution is not to go into team playlists solo. I typically only play Slayer or Team Arena if I have at least a couple friends on with me, if I’m solo I’ll mess around in Warzone or BTB.

Mine is at 46% so it could use some slight improving. Soloing is another issue because it’s a lose-lose situation. We either avoid the playlist altogether because we don’t have anyone to play with or risk playing against full parties like you and your friends. 343 needs to either add restrictions or a solo queuing playlist besides FFA.

I have no problem with the ranking system. I’m fine leaving it as is.

I got news for you, This type of matchmaking is going to become the norm. This is evidence the playerbase is getting smaller and smaller. I’m not saying halo is dying. But I suspect that by the end of November there will only the hardcore players left who are normally Diamond and above players.

As I stated in my above post I can’t see this game that you specified where you were Plat 1 going against high end Onyx, could you please post a link? Also just because people don’t agree with you doesn’t mean that they automatically side with 343 or are part of your perceived problem. In my case I don’t think the matchmaking system is perfect but I also don’t think that it’s “broken”.
Part of the problem with your argument is that you’re upset that you were playing higher ranked players and lost, are you equally as upset when you play lower ranked players and win?

Solo queuing is definitely rough and you make very valid points. I’m not sure I’d like to see restrictions imposed on playlists, however it might be nice to have more Social playlists like Team objective and possibly even Slayer. Where would you implement restrictions or what playlist would you change to be solo queuing?

I agree that player base is getting smaller. The reason I say that is that if you play the same playlist for a few days you will begin to recognize a few names. As far as matching, in breakout I am Platinum and regularly match Silvers. Got ranked Silver in doubles and match Diamonds. In slayer i dropped to Gold 6 after getting wrecked by a couple onyx players. It’s a wacky system.
