Replying so if 343 says anything I’ll know!

But the answer is nobody knows, it hasnt been announced.

Current window is the end of summer. So probably between August and September.

on pc steam we’re still waiting on;

halo reach mod tools
halo 4 mod tools
halo 2 anniversary multiplayer mod tools
steam workshops for each mcc game

supposed to get all that by the end of the year. (so they say)

Hopefully next week :crossed_fingers:, Exchange says it’s gonna have Orion again, even though it just was last week, and this week is the last for the current event in Halo Infinite.

Well, guess I was wrong, Orion’s just in the exchange again… Even though it was the week before last…
So is what’s in the exchange really random?

They would have given at least two weeks notice for an update. Never has there even been a seasonal shadow update released without some notice.

If it was random, the avalanche skin would be on the exchange at some point by now.

Now for real when are they going to update mcc? Next week we got a “drop pod” for Infinite so for sure mcc won’t have anything those days.
It’s been over a month since they teased new content (not mod tools) it would be fine if 343 shows more of what to expect cause more of those armors got leaked two weeks after the announcement

Another week with no new announcements. In the past insider builds were released which let players know ahead of time what kind of content to expect, but it seems this time around it will probably be a surprise. If 343 is planning to do an insider build (which I doubt) there is no way they would meet the end of summer window for the retail release.

Here is my prediction:

  • Blog Post the week of the Aug 29th detailing what to expect
  • Trailer released on Sep 7th
  • Patch out on the 14th to catch the literal last week of summer.

Or they don’t mention anything like usual and we will learn more in a month that the release has been delayed. At the end of the seasonal model 343 said updates would be smaller but more frequent, and evidently this was not true. I’m fine with the current pace of patches, but it would go a long way to throw fans a bone every couple of weeks.

doubt there will be a trailler. just a blog post detailing the update.

i reckon all it’s going to be is bug fixes & halo reach mod tools.

that’s what everyone is waiting for on halo mods discord.

They’ve released trailers a week before launch since season 5. Although it’s a post Infinite world so maybe they won’t put in the effort, but I’m fairly certain there will be new customization items for H2A alongside bug fixes. From what’s been teased there will definitely be some fracture armors which is prime fodder for an announcement trailer.

Praying for HCE bug fixes.

My guess is it’ll drop on the monthly reset. Still 12 days until then. If that won’t be it, then I don’t know when.

They also do need to update or add in tools for editing the Anniversary Campaign Graphics and Audio for the CEA and 2A campaigns as right now you can only change around the classic graphics and audio.

would be nice to get halo 1 anniversary mod tools but i doubit it. they have said halo 2 anniversary mp mod tools are coming along with halo 4 mod tools since they use the same engine.

we seem to be just getting map editors.

the anniversary campaign graphics are not stored in the maps but s3dpak and pck for h2a.
which are essentially just archives containing all the shaders, textures, engine settings and other stuff that those two games require for the on the fly graphics switching.

theres tools out there to decompress these files or extract stuff. i used a hex editor to mod h1a and h2a graphics to disable stuff like depth of field, bloom and certain lens flares.

h2a mp is actual maps so that’s why they are doing mod tools for that.

Going a little bit off topic, do you know of another game on PC besides Halo that has a toggle switch between two graphics settings like CEA and 2A graphics that can be edited in like a similar kind of level editor? Because honestly I think Halo is the only games that is unique like that.

as far as i know halo anniversary are the only game(s) that offer dual graphics switching.

as other games just seem to be plain old remasters.

i,e, just better textures, some performance increases, bug fixes, extra missions / maps etc…

many remasteres suck as you re-buy or download an update and find out they don’t look much better than the originals, some look worse. you think…why even bother? lol…

the following is a good list of remasters @

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_game_remakes_and_remastered_ports

i think they did graphics switching so it would be easy to see the difference and to have that nostalgic factor.

i’ve played a few so called remasters that looked not a lot different to the original releases. usually when a remaster is free it turns out to be less impressive.

with the exception of halo 1 & 2 which look great.

crysis remastered…not so much. (not free) but also a bad remaster.

you can tell when real effort has been made on a remaster as it’ll look much better than the original but not too different so that you can’t recognise the game.

Will there be any benefit to console players in the next update? from what I can find, all of the stuff I can see is to benefit PC players

in the last update, there was some good stuff that were added that weren’t noted on prior to the update. i’m sure it’ll be the same for this update. the emphasis will be on modding, but that won’t be the only part of this update. there will be something for console players, i’m sure of it

The Cutting Room is another type of content. The next official MCC update will introduce actual new content, namely new armor sets for H2A MP.

i think console players can just expect bug fixes, cosmetics and maybe they decide to port over some more halo online maps…
