When is the next Flight launching

I wasn’t able to play the first flight and was wondering when the next one is

We don’t know

We don’t have a date yet but if I had to guess I’d say by the end of August. That gives the team enough time to make changes if necessary from our feedback.

The last flight hasn’t even ended a week ago yet. We’re going to have to give it time.

The team at 343i are evaluating feedback, sending that information to the right teams to implement it into the game.
The next flight has likely already been cut from the main build of the game and just needs time to be prepared before they can launch it for players.

Stay tuned to HaloWaypoint & Halo Social Media channels, you’ll see the news there when it’s announced.
We’re probably looking at the end of August -early September for the next Flight if I had to guess.

Absolutely! And with the sheer volume of bug reports etc they received, it would be safe to assume that this process could take a few weeks to finish up as a minimum.

Soon™

During Gamescom and TGS probably. They stated they had multiple more flights left.

Expect the next flighting at the end of the month but nothing ahs been confirmed by 343i

This is partly why I think the game will be (should be) delayed again
I don’t think there is enough time to get in multiple flights plus an open beta complie all that data analayse that data impliment changes based on data and then test those changes for final relase in less than three months

I don’t get why you think this. The build we played was made in May. They are actually far ahead schedule hence able to do this. Usually developers only have 1-2 months of polish not 7 months. The changes with weapon balance and melee distance are relatively quick fixes. The optimization is already farther along since they haven’t stopped developing the game lol.

Yeah I get that, I know this was a two month old build we played, that was also techncially an alpha/pre-alpha
Obvisouly development didn’t stop
Like i said in less than thre months they have to do do what they did with this first flight and then do that once, twice, three times more?
and it it takes them a month to compile analayse impliemtn and test changes, if they have to do that say 2 more times, that puts us right before launch…
I’ll be happy to be wrong, I just think its a lot to do in a very short window of time and I worry about having a launch like H5 did where we had zero content and got BtB as
“free dlc”

They don’t stop working on the build. I don’t think you realize this. They work internally on issues they identified prior to the flight and have stated many of the issues are already fixed with the current build. The flights are more for game mechanics and PC compatibility. You are making it seem like a short window when it’s actually extremely large with game development. Some games don’t even shape up until the last few weeks before going gold.

Don’t know, but I saw 343 was reminding people to make sure to be opted in on Insider so I assume it won’t bee too long

Games generally go gold for certification three months out from launch
and generally they usually have a release date by then
I’m not saying they never go gold a few weeks out from launch but that is most definetly a rarity
Games can’t be sent to production to be mass produced until they go gold, then you have ship times
and that is all a process on its own yeah?

I’m well aware they don’t stop working on the build, I get it its in constant motion
As I said, I just think there is too much to do for a november release, and I am happy to be wrong (and very well could be) I just won’t be surprised ot see it pushed back

That’s not as common as you think it is with going gold.

Too much to work on? The fact that you state that tells me you don’t understand the process. Nothing against you, but you simply are wrong. They are ahead of schedule. They would of never flighted otherwise.

Saying I don’t understand the process just because I disagree with you is a bit naive but I guess we will wait and see
could very well be wrong, but won’t be surprised if I’m not

Let’s go! the first flight was awesome and I can’t wait for another!!

I’m also in disagreement with what you’ve been staying above to be honest.

This flight was cut from the main build in May, they spent the last 2 months then prepping it for flight release. During that time the main game is still being worked on.
Considering where the game was this time last year to where it is now - it’s not that far from being done. They’ve said that in blogs & from everything we’ve seen is also telling us that too.

343i isn’t a small studio, they have the money and people power to finish the game. Considering they already have a release date in mind - as confirmed by Phil Spencer, they have a idea of their current deadlines and will obviously be working accordingly to meet that.

As for games going gold 3 months prior to release that’s a very generalised statement and not entirely accurate. Pyschonauts 2 only went gold days ago and that’s due to release this month.
There is too many different circumstances with scope and scale of different games to say “go gold 3 months prior to launch”.

I don’t see Halo Infinite as being in a predicament as it was last year. By the time the game releases 343i would of had about 16 months of extra development time. That’s plenty enough, the fruits of that labour have already been shown and are very clear.

On a final note, there is no “open beta”. Just Flighting for Halo Insiders, that’s been abundantly clear in all of their messaging throughout history.
The teams making builds of the game & those getting player feedback are different groups of people and doesn’t affect development time in significant ways.

Completely fair
And like I’ve said, I’ll be happy to be wrong, but won’t be surprised if I’m right yeah?
As someone who doesn’t have an insid scoop of where they are at, who has not been involved in their developmental process I’m looking at it from an outsidrers perspective

and as an outsiders perpsective we are approx 3 months out from the “rough launch” time (mid nov) and we don’t have

-edtition anouncments no news on limiited collectors or legendary editions of the game
-no news on special edition controller or consoles (consoles I’ll give a slight pass due to production issues so there may not be one)
-no marketing like we saw with H5 (it doens’t have tp be deceptive marketing like H5 (please god no) but something…anything)
-no offical release date

These things concern me and lend to my thought process.
Again, could be and will be happy to be wrong and if I am I’ll come back to these threads, apologise for being wrong, correct myself and eat my humble pie
I’m not above being wrong, happens a whole hell of a lot, just ask my fiance

probably near the end of this month I’d bet or next month.

We don’t actually know how many flights 343 are wanting to do before release do we?

End of month or next
