Since launch I have not been able to hear footsteps from behind. I have Dolby Atmos and it still sucks. Spartans could be Irish dancing behind me I wouldn’t hear them. A fix would be great, especially with the god awful radar.
Its not Call of Duty
According to 343 it’s your headset manufacture that’s causing the issues. Despite the fact Halo is the only game on the market with audio issues.
I’ve been playing Halo since CE and the directional audio has never been this bad.
I can hear footsteps on TV speakers, is it your headset?
before I quit playing after 2weeks i noticed the surround audio was exceptionally bad compared to any game in mcc. I had a friend who was a semi expert in halo settings and he said I had all of it correct.
The footsteps, near/far explosions, weapen fire. ect, broken as hek. Every other mcc title and non halo games sound fine. I use steam pc with a headset.
I run Turtle Beach Headset & I practically find it hard to hear footsteps
I’ve had a few issues before ( Halo Reach was probably the worst ) where audio would cut out from anything that was directly behind me. But in Infinite I honestly haven’t had so much issues. I think it only really effected me a few times near the start back when they released the multiplayer, but has since then not been an issue at all. Using a Logitech wireless gaming head set here. Makes a huge difference when it comes to locating targets with sound ques.
I’ve been calling out the audio in this game as being atrocious since day one, and in particular the directional audio (including footsteps from behind which are literally non existent). It’s inexcusable for a AAA game in 2021/22 to have such a poor audio engine when it’s one of the vital senses we use as players.
